Be it known that we, A. J. MILLS and E. M. HEWETT, ofScott, in the county of Courtland, and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Clothes-Dryers and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact .description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the drawings, A represents a thin metallic plate, with a series of semicircular flanges, AA, cast upon it. C C represent ears, which are also cast upon the plate, one at each end and one upon each side. These ears are provided with ho'les through which screws pass, or nails to secure the plate to thewall of a house, or to any place it may be desirable to secure it. B B represent al series of wooden bars, the inner ends of which are ,pivoted between the anges A A by means of the pins 0l d. There are two sets of these bars, as will be seen, passing in between the anges from each side of the plate, and their ends nearly meeting before they are secured by the pins. The flanges are cast suciently wide apart to allow a slat of any required thickness to be placed between.

In using this dryer the plate A is nailed or screwed to the wall of the-room in which it is intended to be used, its back being flat against the wall. The slats are then opened out at Vany desired angle and clothes are hung upon them to be dried. When the slats are no t in use they may be closed up to the wall so as t0 be entirely out of the Way. I
Having thus fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- The within-described dryer, composed ofthe plate A, with its flanges, and the pivoted slats B B, the same being used substantially as and for the purpose-specified.
