This invention rel otes to an 'ap im'utus for the munufucture of whet is known by the trade ias killik-ken'ih tobacco. For such tobucco,'the scraps and wasteifrom cigur nianufactories, and. other parts of' the tobacco leaves or plunts, a re 'genernlly employed; and, in prepar'ingfsuid tobacco, the scraps and waste ei'e'first worked through iisieye of a 'cei'tain fineness, whereby the tob acco isgrun-ulated3. nd afteiwardsthis grnnulat'ed tobacco is separated from the, dust by neuns of a huii' sieve. :Ihis operation is generally performed by hand. -The operation is as follows The tobacco scraps and waste tobacco are filled into the Box' A, the {cover B is fil mly closed, and the shaft C is turned. By these means the tobacco is granulated in an easy and speedy manner, undthe dust is not permitted'to escape in'thc room or building, so that theoperation of granula ting'tobacco can be conducted without injuring the health of or annoying the woi'kmen engaged-in the operation, or: other persons in the same room or building.
