This invention is designed to'fnstei the weight-cord to' a Window sash in such manner that it may be readily attached and detached in ,order that the' sash may vbe removed with. facility when required. The device consists of two parts orlplntcs of meta-l, e bed-plete, a, fig. 3, and u catch-plate or chipper, b, fig. 4. The bed-plate a is sunk in the side ofthe sash A ushwith the surface, und -is fastened with screws. In the Centre is an opening, c, large enough to receive the clepper From the upper side of the opening c extends a.- slot c1 to the end of the platte a, large enough to admit the weight-cord d. The catch-plate 6 is` an oblong plete with :in offset b at the upper end, having init nhole, e, through which passes the cord d that is held in place by n knot, d1, in the end. Undei` the plate a is cut a recess, g, in the sash A, large enough to receive the catch-platte I) and knot d; undl a. groove extends from the recess y to the top of the sash A-for receiving the cord d, ns shown in figs. The catch-platte Z1, with the rope attached, is introduced through the opening c, so thetits lower end or tongue Z22 shell pass under the plete a, and its upper end l shell strike the upper side of the opening c, when the face will be flush with the side ofthe sash, and it will be held in place by the tension. of the cord d, produced by the weight attached to it as usual. The catch-plate may be removed readily by pushing-the lower end 4downwards, and then pulling the upper end outward.

Havingthus described my invention, I claim ns'new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The bed-plate a, in combination withthe. catch-plate b, for attaching the oord @Z to the sash A, arranged `und operating as and for the purposes herein described.
