Our invention has relation to a series of sheets or disks of fly-paper having an exposed sticky face, the sheets being superposed one upon the other and adapted to be removably mounted in a suitable receptacle, each sheet being provided with one .or more ungummed flaps, whereby successive sheets or strips may be removed from the pile as oocasion demands; and in such connection the invention relates particularly to the construction and arrangement of such sticky fly-paper sheets, strips, or disks and mounted in a receiving appliance.

The principal objects of our invention are, first, to provide a seriesof disks or sheets of sticky fly-paper superposed upon one an other, and each sheet or disk being provided with one or more ungummed flaps or points, whereby they may be successively removed from the pile, and, second, to provide in connection with the pile of superposed sheets, strips, or disks a hollow or dished receptacle the bottom whereof is gummed, said'receptacle adapted to receive and maintain the sticky body portion of the paper in substantially fiat condition and to maintain the ungummed removal flaps or points in an elevated or angular position with respect to the sticky body portions of said sheets or disks.

Our invention, stated in general terms, consists of a series of sheets or disks of sticky fiy-paper constructed, arranged, and adapted to be employed in a receptacle in substantially the manner hereinafter described and claimed.

The nature and scope of our invention will be more fully understood from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which Figure 1 is a top or plan View of a pile of fly-paper mounted in a hollow receptacle and embodying main features of our invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal central section of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a top or plan View of one of the sheets removed from the pile and from the receptacle.

Referring to the drawings, a represents a hollow or dish-shaped receptacle having a fiat bottom a and a rim or periphery a WVithin this receptacle a is mounted a series of sheets or disks of fly-paper, each sheet or disk I) having at its edge or periphery one or more flaps or points (Z. The body f each sheet or disk I) is covered or gummed with a layer 6 of sticky matter, but the flaps (l are not gummed.v The sheets or disks 1) are superposed one upon the other and arranged so that their gummed surfaces lie flat within the receptacle upon the bottom a and their ungummed flaps or points d are elevated at an angle to the flat portions of the sheets, which flaps or points rest by preference upon the periphery or rim a of the receptacle.

In assembling the sheets or disks together a layer 6 of sticky material is first spread over the bottom a of the receptacle. A sheet or disk I) is then mounted flat on the bottom and its upper surface coated with a suitable sticky substance or material. Successive sheets or disks 1) are then mounted upon the first sheet, each sheet being coated on its upper and lower faces with the sticky substance or material, with the exception of the topmost sheet, which is not coated upon its upper surface. The flaps or points cl of the successive sheets are arranged so that they radiate from a common center. The flaps of one sheet are not laid under or over the flaps of another sheet, but to one side, that is, staggered, so that the points may be separately seized and one of the sheets of the series thereby readily removed. By lifting one or more flaps of a single sheet the sheet may be stripped or peeled off of the pile, exposing the gummed surface of the next succeeding sheet to View and for action upon the fly lodging thereon.

Having thus described the nature and obj ects of our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. A series of superposed sheets or disks of sticky fly-paper provided with integral flaps or points radiating from a common center and staggered so that a flap or point of one of the sheets may be separately seized and that sheet thereby removed, substantially as described.

2. The combination with a receptacle provided with a riln of a series of superposed sheets or disks of sticky fly-paper provided with integral non-coated flaps or points a1 ranged so as to radiate from a common center and staggered so that a flap or point of one of the sheets may be separately seized and that sheet thereby removed, and the said flaps or
