CHARLES W. SCOTT, JR, OF STOCKTON, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF TO FREDERIO B. ARMSTRONG, OF CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY.
KNOCKDOWN RACKlNG-STAND FOR BARRELS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 572,574, dated December 8, 1896. Application filed July 6,1896. Serial No. 598,070. (No model.)
1' 0 all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known thatI, CHARLES W. Soorr, J r. a citizen of the United States, residing at Stockton, in the county of Camden and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Knockdown Racking-Stand for Barrels, of which the following is a specification.
On reference to the accompanying sheet of drawings, making part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side elevation. The stand is shown in section and the barrel in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is an end elevation of the stand and barrel, and Fig. 3 is aside elevation of the stand knocked down.
Similar letters refer to similar parts in the several views.
A is a collapsing or knockdown liquor rackstand; B, the ends of said stand composed of the legs a, which are connected by parallel strips or braces b, fastened to their opposite sides for forming an intervening space 0.
C is a removable brace extending between the ends B and bearing in openings d for keeping the sides stiff and braced apart.
D is a divided brace having its ends hinged to the ends B at e and hinged at f, its division, so that it can double on itself, as shown at Fig. 3.
In the space 0, formed by the strips 1) of the ends 13, are inwardly-beveled antifrictionwheels E 011 journals gin bearings of said ends.
F, dotted lines, is a barrel on the wheels E.
In operation the barrel F, as shown, is carried on the wheels E, the inclination of which prevents it from rolling oif lengthwise or slid- 3 5 ing off endwise, while at the same time it can be rotated with ease and its contents racked out, after which the stand can be knocked down by withdrawing the removable brace O, doubling up the hinged divided brace D, and 40 closing together the ends B.
I claim-- 1. In a knockdown racking-stand, the combination of open-space ends, divided hinged brace, and inclined antifriction barrel-carrying wheels, as shown and described.
2. In a knockdown racking-stand, the combination of open-space ends, removable brace, divided hinged brace, and inclined antifriction barrel-carrying Wheels, as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
