POST-AUGER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 560,267, dated May 19, 1896.

Be it known that I, AMBROSE H. KITE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Stillwater, in the county of Payne and Territory of Oklahoma, have invented a new and useful Post-Auger, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in post-angers, which in taking the core of the post-hole out in a solid piece, saves labor and time.

I have attempted to explain the mechanism of my invention in the accompanying drawings. v

Figure 1 is a vertical section of the auger complete. Fig. 2 is a bottom view of the auger, showing outside cutting-knives and a part of the core-drum and the core-knives; also the guide-wheel that holds the auger in position while starting the hole.-

Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout both views.

The wood handle at a a passes through a hollow piece which connects with pipe 0. Pipe 0 connects with piece 19 p and p 19 connects with piece k 70, that passes down to and. fastens to the core-drum t. The object of using gas-pipe is to give strength and prevent weight and lessen the cost of manufacture.
