DENTAL GOLD-FOIL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 550,808, dated December 3, 1895.

To all whom. t may concern:
Be it known that I, EMILE DE TEEY, a citizen of Switzerland, and a resident of Basle, Switzerland, have invented an Improved Manufacture of GoldFoil for use in Dentistry, of which the following is a clear and complete specication.
A very desirable form of gold used in dentistry has been that of a thin beaten sheet of gold covered on one or both of its faces by matte or dead gold-that is, gold in a crystalline or spongy form. Such matte gold has hitherto been united to the gold-foil by heat.
The object of my invention has been to provide compound gold-foil of the general character above described, whereby the different kinds of gold may be united together by mechanical means solely and Without having recourse to heat and can be united at a moments notice with the greatest ease.
In the accompanying drawings, Figures l and 2 show, by Way of example, a planand a section, respectively, of a sheet of gold-foil made according to my invention; and Figs. 3 and 4 show in plan and sectional elevation, respectively, the perforated rough gold sheet l adapted for causing the dead or matte gold to adhere thereto.
As shown in the iigures, the gold sheet A is provided with a series of perforations a stamped ou't of the same, so that the foil is pressed outward to form projections b around the said perforations on the two faces of the goldfoil alternately.
