CARL SACHS, OF ZABRZE, GERMANY.
WATERlNG-POT SPRINKLER WITH D ETACHABLE ROSE.
$PEQIFIGATI'ON forming part of Letters Patent No. 543,783, dated .Tuly 30, 1 895.
Application filed November 21 1 94- Serial No. 529,489. (No model.) Patented in Germany June 15,1894,N0.27,1 46 in France June 29, 1894,1Io. 239,683; in Italy July 9,1894,No. 36,804/202; in England July 10, 1894, No. 13,368; in Austria July 13, 1894, No. 44/3,731, and in Hungary July 15, 1894,1Io. 949.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CARL SACHS, of Zabrze, Silesia, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Watering-Pot Sprinklers withDetachable Roses, of which the following is a specification, and for which I have obtained Letters Patent in Great Britain July 10, 1894, Provisional No. 13,368; in France June 29, 1894, No. 239,683; in Austria July 13, 1894, Vol. 44, fol. 3,731; in Hungary July 15, 1894, N0. 949; in Italy July 9, 1894,No. 36,804 202, and in Germany (model of utility) June 15, 1894, No. 27,146.
This invention relates to certain improvements in sprinkling heads or roses.
The object of the invention is to provide a sprinkling-head wherein the perforated portion can be easily and quickly removed or attached, so that the perforated portion can be thoroughly cleansed and the sprinkling-head freed from all accumulations of dbris, and also so that portions with difierently-sized perforations can be employed interchangeably for one sprinkling-head.
The invention consists in certain novel features of construction and in combinations and arrangements of parts, more fully and particularly described and pointed out hereinafter.
The accompanying drawing shows a partial longitudinal section of a sprinkling or rose head constructed in accordance with my in- Vention.
In the drawing, a is the attaching pipe or shank of the sprinkler rose or head I). The outer end of the funnel-shaped end or head I) is open, and the outer end wall thereof is preferably straight, as shown, with an exterior annular shoulder g a distance down from the outer edge of the head. The packing c is arranged on this shoulder or flange g.
h is the perforated top or plate covering the open end of the head and provided with the surrounding edge, arranged to snugly fit the exterior of the straight outer end of the head with its edge engaging and forming a tight joint with packing c. This perforated plate can be detachably secured in position by the catches f, each having a handle (1 and pivoted to the plate and arranged to catch under the flange g and draw the plate tightly down into the packing and lock it in position. If desired the plate can be hinged at one edge by a hinge f, pivoted at c, to the head and a catch provided at the opposite edge.
The advantages and utility of this invention are clearly obvious and apparent without further elucidation.
What I claim is- The herein described rose head having the annular shoulder or flange g, a distance back from its outer edge, packing on the same, the perforated plate with the inturned edge formed to embrace the outer end of the head and fit said packing on the flange, and catches, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
CARL SACHS. Witnesses:
GERT'RUD KRAUSE,
CHARLES D. O. WRIGHT.
