.In small fans I have found it only necessary to secure theblades with one rivet, but in larger fans a'series of rivets or`bolts may he used, if found necessary.
By forming tliebladesin the manner de scribed, I not only give the blade the required l rigidity, but also provide ready means for attaching the bl'adeto the-bod .ln some instances, where a fan is made- 2. The combinat-ion of the body. having flanges in its periphery, a seres'of blades partlyslotted and hav'ing'iianges on each side of .the slot, eaehIblade being adapted to a notch in the body, and secured thereto at the .inner end, substantially as described.
