JOHN MCVAY, OF COLUMBIA, OHIO.
IMPROVEMENT IN RooFlNG.
Specitication forming part of Letters Patent No. 53,162, dated March 13, 1866.
Beit known that I, JOHN MCVAYmf Columbia, I lamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Board -Root's; and I do hereby declare the. following to bea t'ull,clear,a1ul exact description thereof', reference being had to the accolupanyiug (lrawings, making part ot' this specification.
Myinventiou relates to the class of' roofs Y which consist of a series ofboards whose joints or interstices are closed by metallic tongues or strips, which serve also to conduct ott' whatever water may enter the interstices; and my invention consists in amore simple, effective, and enduring mode of constructing such roofs.

I claim herein as new and ot' my invention-'- The combination ot' the V-shaped troughs E with grooves C and kerfs Din the edges of the boards B, all constructed and arranged in the manner and for the purposes set forth.
