UNITED STATES PATENT Onriosg HENRY vocr, on LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY.
BRACKET-CARRIER FOR BOILERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 530,811, dated December 1 1,] 894.
Application filed May 24, 1894. Serial No. 512,318. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY VOGT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of J efierson and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bracket-Carriers for Boilers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to a bracket'carrier of a boiler, a part of which is detachable, so that it will be out of the way when the boiler is moved. It is composed of two parts, one of which is permanently riveted to the boiler, the other part is bolted to and readily detachable from that riveted to the boiler.
In the drawings, Figures 1, 2 and 3 are side, end, and top views respectively of the detachable part of my bracket carrier, and Figs. 4 and 5 are end and side views respectively of the part of the same which is riveted to the boiler. Figs. 6, 7 and 8 are side, end and top views respectively of my bracket carrier, showing the two parts bolted together.
A is the part of my bracket carrier which is riveted to the boiler. Its side Bis so shaped as to conform to that portion of the boiler to which it is attached by rivets passing through the holes 0.
D are slots in the part A, which receive the 7 heads of the bolts E.
F is an angle bracket and is the detachable part of my bracket carrier, and is secured to the part A by means of the bolts E passing through the holes G, and by the nuts H. The
angle bracket F is strengthened by a brace I and has a shoulder J, which rests against the lower edge of the part A, and prevents it from slipping downward. The angle bracketF rests upon the masonryor any other foundation provided to support the boiler. When the boiler is to be transported the angle bracket F is readily detachable from the part A by removing the nuts H from the bolts'E, which can then be removed from'the slots D. The b'oiler may then be taken into doorways that are too narrow to receive it when the parts of the bracket carrier are bolted together. It may also be rolled.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a bracket carrier for steam boilers in combination a detachable angle bracket F having a shoulder J a brace I and bolt holes G, and a fixed partA having slots D to receive the heads of the bolts holding the two parts of the bracket carrier together substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In a bracket carrier for steam boilers, the combination of a detachable angle bracket having a shoulder, a fixed part having vertical slots on its inner side, and bolts, the heads of which enter said slots, passed through the bracket and provided with nuts.
In testimony whereof Iaffix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HENRY VOGT. Witnesses:
JAMES W. BEATTIE, GUS F. ROTHENBURGER.
