Description

l L. KUPPLR. CONSTRUCTION or WALLS.
Patented Nov. 6, 1894.

NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LAMBERT KPPER, 'on AIX-LA-OHAPELLE, GERMANY.
CONSTRUCTION OF WALLS.
SPECIFIATION formngpart of Letters Patent No. 528,636, dated November 6, 1894.
Application filed June 25, 1894. Serial No. 515,798. (No model.) Patentedin Luizemburg, March 28. 1894, No. 2,001, and in Belgium April 16, 1894.No.109,207.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LAMBERT KPPER, manufacturer, a citizen of the German Empire, residing at Aix-la-Chapelle, in the Kingdom of Prussia, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in the Construction of Valls, (upon which I have received patents in the following countries: Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, March 28, 1894, No. 2,001, and Belgium, April 16, 1894, No. 109,297,) of which the following isa specication.
My invention relates to improvements in the construction of building-walls. I attain these objects by the combination illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 shows the front view of the building-wall, partly in section, to illustrate the new construction. Fig. 2is a longitudinal sectional viewof the building-wall; Fig. 3, a detail vertical section of a single plate; Fig. 4, a side view of the same.
Similar letters of reference' indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
The building-wall, as shown in Figs. l andy 2, is composed of plates a united together, which are provided upon their vertical edges with grooves b from which a number of short channels or perforations c branch off laterally toward the inside of the plates. On connecting the plates together, the channels formed by the grooves b at the edges which coincide with each other and with the upper part CZ of the median channel of the adjacent lower plate are filled together with their ramiications c and the channel part d with a binding material. In this way an utmost solid and rm connection of the plates is created and through the action of the ramifications` the plates are sustained in their vertical edges. Thus, a reciprocal displacement of the same is impossible and the wall forms a steady ensemble by which means the pressure of the same on the supports is released. The other in the channels c and the upper part d of the median channel to escape during the filling with binding material, the channels at their end surfaces are supplied with small openings e, which are ending in the edjacent insulation channels.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A building-wall composed of plates a provided in the middle with a channel divided in two or more parts and upon their vertical edges with grooves?) from whicha number of short channels c branch off laterally toward the inside of the plates, substantially as described.
2. A building wall composed of plates d the grooves upony their vertical edges together with their ramifications and the upper part d of the median channel'of the adjacent lower plate being filled with a binding material, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.
8. A board or plate for building-walls whose grooves upon their vertical edges are provided with ramifications directed toward the inside of the plate, substantially as set forth.
In'testimony that 1 claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses. t
