Be it known that I, ALBERT L. GRAY, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Tarkio, in the county of Atchison and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful ImprovementsinaVaginal Syringe and Urinal; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompan'ying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

The object of this invention is to provide a syringe of improved construction to be used for the purpose of irrigating the vagina, the tube of the syringe being so constructed as to provide exit openings for the irrigating a vaginal syringe the tube D can be removed 7 o fluid and a recess and openings beneath the urethra for urination.

The invention consists in the construction and combination of the parts, as will be hereinafter fully set forth and particularly pointed out in the claim.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a longitudinal section, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view on the line 22 of Fig. 1.

A designates an induction tube and B the eduction tube, the induction tube being connected by a flexible tube a to a bag containing water or other liquid supply and the eduction tube having a flexible tube b connected thereto which leads to a suitable receptacle for the discharge. The induction and eduction tubes A and B are let into a rigid block or piece 0. This block is preferably made of hard rubber and is provided in its inner side with a circular recess having internal screwthreads with which the threaded end of the.

tube D engages. The tube is provided with suitable openings, preferably in the form of slots (1 and perforations d. The end of the tube is provided with an orifice of sufficient size to admit a nozzle of any suitable shape or construction, which nozzle is connected to the end of a rigid tube A located within the tube D and extending to the induction tube A.

The upper side of the tube D is cut away at d to form a recess at the base of which is a series of perforations cl which lead to the interior of the tube D.

4 E designates a pad of soft rubber or other analogous material,of an oval shape, the rear Wall being straight to bear against the flange of the block or.piece O and the front wall concave from its edge to the central opening through which the tube D passes. The construction of the pad is such that it is much thicker and of greater rigidity at its lower portion than at its upper portion.

The tubes A, A and B are of rigid material or hard rubber, and the device is so constructed that the tube D can be readily removed from the pad and block or grasping portion 0 so that all the parts can be separated to be easily cleansed.

If the device is to be put to other uses than and a suitable attachment applied to the end of the tube A.

The device herein shown and described provides a vaginal syringe and urinal, and in use it is applied in the usual manner, the rigid portion or block 0 providing a convenient grasping portion or hand-hold to press the flexiblepad E against the labia, and the water or medicated fluid will be injected into the vagina through the nozzle and flowing back will pass out through the openings in the tube D and discharge pipe B.

When the syringe is in use should the patient desire to urinate the urethra being located immediately above the recess cl the urine will run into the recess and through the perforations in the base of the same into the tube D and from there out through the discharge pipe.

The device obviates the use of a bed-pan 0 for urinating purposes and can be used without disturbing the patient.
