SPECIFICATION forming part of -Letters Patent No. 504,916, dated September 12, 1893.

To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES FRANKEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

My invention has relation to improvements in display-racks, designed more especially for the display and sale of gloves, neckwear,hand kerchiefs, hosiery, and similar articles of merchandise.

The object of my invention is to provide suitable means whereby merchants may display and sell therefrom their stock of the above mentioned articles, and also to provide a display rack of this character, which shall be simple of construction, durable in use, and comparatively inexpensive of production.

In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation.

Referring to the drawings, Figure 1, represents a perspective view of the display-rack, and Fig. 2, is a plan View of the same.

In the accompanying drawings, the letter A, designates an ordinary metal rod of any desirable length, to allow one or more of the display bodies to be placed thereupon, the lower end of the rod being inserted into a metal, or other similar base B, upon which` the stand may revolve.

The letter C indicates a rack-body having a hole through its center as atx-x2 through which the adjustable rod A, is inserted, and on this rod is also placed an adjustable sleeve D, provided with a thumb-screw by which means the rack-body may be held at any desired position. This rack-body may be made of wood, cast-metal or whatever material may be preferred, having grooves E on its top, into which may be inserted cards showingthe prices of the different articles. In the faces ofthe rack-body dove-tailed recesses may be formed to allow the arms to be easily and quickly placed in position and to be removed when it is desired to display other articles; or arms may be fastened on by means of screws, dro.

The adjustable arms G may extend out from the rack-body any desirable distance, and upon these arms are strung as many clasps as articles to be exhibited, or sold therefrom.

It can readily be seen that from the foregoing description, the display rack will be simple and neat in construction and when ready to be placed for displaying purposes, calculated to attract attention.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-

A display rack consisting of a standard, a

`rack body supported by said standard and provided with vertical dove tail grooves and arms having dovetail ends to take into said grooves, substantially as herein described.
