INVENTOI? I By %W Z Patented Aug. 29, 1893.1
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MICHAEL J. NEUMANN, JR, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
GAME-REGISTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 503,978, dated August 29, 1893.
Application filed April 11, 1893. Serial No. 469,962. (No model.)
To a whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LMIGHAEL J. NEUMANN, J12, of New York city, New York, have invented an Improved Game-Register, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a register made in the form of a watch and adapted to register games of contest such as boxing rounds and the like.
I11 the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a face View of my improved game register; Fig. 2 a similar view with the face plate removed; Fig. 3 a rear view of the back plate I), and Fig. 4 a cross section on line 00 00,Fig. l.
The letter a, represents a watch case provided With a stem 0,, and with a shoulder a Against this shoulder there is placed the back plate I), through which extend two piv- These pivots carry at their front ends, the revolving dials c, c, of which the dial 0, indicates units and the dial 0, tens. At their rear ends, the pivots b, 6 carry the star wheels d, d, placed in different planes and of which the wheel (1, has a rearwardly bent tooth d that engages and moves the wheel (1, at each complete revolution of the wheel d. The wheels 61, d, are held in position by a spring e, while the wheel cl, is operated by a spring pawl e, which in turn is moved by the Watch stem at.
In front of the back plate I), there is placed the face plate f, provided with perforations f, f to expose the two central numbers on the dials o, c. The face plate is protected by the usual glass cover g. The pivots 1;,12 have their hearings in the plate b, between the star Wheels and the dials. In order to prevent longitudinal motion of pivot b in plate I), and hold the wheel (1 at its proper position back of wheel d, the pivot W, is provided with a collar d between the star wheel d and the plate b.
In use, the stem a, is depressed at the end of each round, to advance the dial 0, for the distance of one tooth and thus a count of the game can be readily kept.
Vhat I claim is- The combination of case a with inclosed perforated plate Z), pivots 12, b passing through said plate, star wheels d, d, and dials c, c, secured to the pivots at opposite sides of the plate, a collar 01 between wheel cl and plate 19, a face plate f, pawl e, and stem 0., the wheel (1 having a rearwardly projecting tooth (1 to engage wheel d',at each revolution, substantially as specified.
