ELAsTlo-GORE MARKER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 500,007, dated June 20, 1893.
Application filed March 18, 1893.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN KENT, of Brockton, in the county of Plymouth and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Elastic-Gore Markers, of Which'the following is a specification.
This invention has relation to devices for marking elastic gorings for Congress and other boots and shoes.
It is the object of the' invention to provide for a single Congress shoe, may be marked at a single operation, which Work may be done speedily, accurately, and with entire safety from accident to the operator.
It is also the object of the invention to provide a machine of the characterbefore mentioned which can be readily adjusted with exactness to mark gores Suited to boots and shoes of varying size.
It is also the object of the invention to provide other improvements, incidental to the foregoing, all as I will now proceed to describe and claim. y
Reference is to be had to the annexed drawings and to the letters marked thereon forming a part of this specification, the same letters designating the same parts or features as the case may be, wherever they occur.
Of the draWings-Figure I is a top plan view of the invention, complete. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a front view, part being shown as in section.

b is a bar provided at its rear end with laterally extended arms c which are jourualed in suitable bearings d connected with the bed.
c is the central marking device, havinglthe character of a double trough and of the form of a W in cross section,which marking device is secured beneath the forward part of the bar b and extending parallel therewith. In the angles forming'the bottoms of the double troughs of the said central marking device there are made narrow slits f which communicate between the interior and exterior of the said troughs, which are constructed so as to hold powdered chalk or other marking material which may be supplied through the screw-capped opening g.
