To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANTON WEIsKITTEL, of Baltimore city, in the State of Maryland, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Burnersfor Gas-Stoves, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improved burner for gas stoves and consistsin the special construction and combinations of parts hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
In the drawings-Figure 1 is a plan view of a burner constructed according to my invention. Fig. 2 is a cross section thereof. Fig. 3 is a detail sectional view of the top plate and Fig. 4 is a plan View of a double burner embodying my improvements.
The improvement comprises the base or frame section A having the annular cup or receiving chamber B the inner upper faces of both the outer and inner walls whereof are beveled at 19 forming together a conical seatas is best shown in Fig. 2. It will be seen that these beveled faces Z) Z) are opposite each other and flare in reverse directions. The top 0 has its upper face made rounded or convex and its under face is grooved or channeled centrally at D such channel serving to enlarge the capacity of the gas receiver when the top is in place. This top 0 like the cup is an annulus and its opposite edges on its under side are beveled inwardly at E from top to bottom to correspond with and fit the beveled faces I) of the cup. By beveling both the inner and outer faces at E and the cup face atbthe an-i nular top 0 may be seated therein by its own gravity. In this connection it will be seen that the inner beveled faces bE serve an important function as in addition to firmly supporting the top at such point they operate to prevent the displacement of the top by any slight shock or jar upon its outer edge. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The improved gas burner herein described consisting of the annular cup or receiver having the open central air space and provided at the upper edges of the inner sides of its walls with the outwardly flaring beveled surfaces forming a concave seat, and the annular topprovided on its under side at its edges with the inwardly tapering beveled surfaces fitted to the beveled bearings of the cup, having such beveled surfaces of the top provided with radial grooves and having upon its upper sides radial grooves running to its edges and arranged alternately with the grooves in its under side all substantially as set forth.
