Be it known that I, SAMUEL FRIEDLANDER, acitizen of the United States, residing at Memphis, in the county of Shelby and State of Tennessee, have invented a new and useful Goat-Form, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in exhibition forms designed to support such garments as coats, cloaks, ($60., in advantageous positions to show their form, make up, 850., the object of my improvement being to add to the convenience and the attractiveness of such devices and enable the garments to be more satisfactorily exhibited.

My invention is fully described in connection with the following drawings, and is particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

In the drawings: Figure 1 is a front view of a form embodying my improvements, with a coat shown in position thereon. Fig. 2 is a similar View, the coat being removed. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view of the same.

Heretofore the half -busts used in showwindows to exhibit madeup goods have been constructed in connection with or supported upon easels or other supporting frames, or have been provided with stands attached to their lower ends and adapted to rest upon the floor of the window.

An essential feature of my invention consists in arranging such a bust within a frame provided with suitable drapery to conceal all but that portion of the garment which it is desired to exhibit, and providing the same with illuminating means whereby the garment upon the form may be shown to the best advantage.

Referring to the drawings, A represents an ordinary bust form or body-portion, which is arranged in a frame B, drapery 0 being placed at the inner edges of the frame and attached to the body-portion so as to present an ornamental appearance.

The body-portion may be made of papier mach, wood, or other light material, and the shoulder portion D is provided with an opening E, which communicates with the back of the frame, and is adapted to allow the passage therethrough of an electric wire, suitable for the attachment of an incandescent lamp.

The sleeve puff or tube F is pivotally connected at its upper end to the shoulder-portion of the bust of body and may be of any suitable or preferred form to hold the sleeve in the most favorable position, said sleeve puff being hollow and having its upper end arranged adjacent to the opening in the shoulder-portion of the body or bust to enable the said wire G to extend longitudinally through the sleeve-puff and support the lamp H at the lower extremity of the sleeve.

The body or bust is removable from the frame by means of the removable back K, which is attached to the frame, whereby the garment may be changed or substituted by another by merely removing the bust or body from the frame.

To arrange a garment, such as a coat, upon the form I prefer to turn one of the sleeves inside out and pass it through the other-sleeve, thus doubling or folding the garment, after which the sleeve puff or tube is passed through the sleeves and the garment is hung upon the body-portion of the form, as indicated in Fig.1.

It will be seen that by arranging the form in a containing frame, as described, the exhibited garment is given a more attractive and finished appearance, and by the use of a light in the manner described the particular garment is illuminated in such a way as to show the material and make-up and bring out its form clearly-in connection with the bust. Furthermore, by the use of the frame, as described, I am enabled to suspend the form from the wall or other convenient support or stand upon the floor of the show-window, or arrange it upon a table or counter in the most convenient positions to attract attention.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The combination with a containing frame, of a coat form comprising a body-portion secured in the frame, and a sleeve-puff attached to the body-portion, and drapery disposed in the frame around the body-portion, substantially as specified.
