J OHANN KRUMBACHER, OF MUNICH, GERMANY.
PANORAMA-CARROUSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 455,546, dated July 7, 18 91. Application filed March 9, 1891. Serial No. 384,312. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OHANN KRUMBAOHER, a citizen of the German Empire, residing at Munich,in the Kingdom ofBavaria, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Panorama-Oarrousels, of which the followingis a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved combined panorama or carrousel in which the persons while taking a trip in the carrousel at the same time have a view of representations of landscapes, &o., suitably arranged.
The invention consists of a circular or polygonal building having a depressed circular track and a circular or polygonal Wall at each side of the track, representations of landscapes being produced on the inner surface of one wall and mirrors being arranged on the other wall for the purpose of reflecting the representations of landscapes on the walls previously mentioned.
The invention also consists in the construction and combination of parts and details which will be fully described and set forth hereinafter, and finally pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a vertical plan view of my improved panorama and carrousel, and Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view of the same on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The building containing my improved panorama and carrousel consists of a polygonal central structure A, and the outer wall B surrounding the central structure A at a greater or less distance from the same.
b, c, and d represent waiting-rooms for the different classes, and g'the entrance-hall, in which the ticket-booth a is arranged.
A depressed circular track O is arranged midway between the outer Wall E and the wall of the central structure A, and on said track cars G run, said cars being run singly or coupled, as trained. The cars can be propelled by any suitable motorfor example, an electromotor-or the cars can be propelled by any one of the Well-known devices at present used for propelling the cars and figures of carrousels. The cars are open at the top, so as to give a full view of the circular passage in which they run. They have doors or openings toward the outer wall B.
On the inner surface of the outer WallB representations of landscapes are painted or produced in any suitable manner. surface of the cylindrical structure A mirrors fare secured in such a manner as to leave no spaces between their adjacent edges. As the wagons run in a recessed track, all parts of the landscape pictures on the outer wall B are reflected in the mirrors, and the eye of the observer is not so high that the upper parts of the landscapes would not appear in the mirrors. A person occupying one of the cars thus sees the representations of the landscapes both in original and in the reflection in-the mirror, whereby the ride in the carrouselcars is rendered more attractive and amusing.
The space bounded by the central building A can be used for heaters, stoves, instruments, motors, duo.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A panorama-carrousel consisting of a circular track arranged between two concentric circular or polygonal walls, representations of landscapes being applied on one wall and mirrors on the opposite wall, substantially as set forth.
2. A panorama-carrousel constructed with two concentric circular'or polygonal walls, a depressed track concentric with the walls and arranged below the floor of the space bounded by the walls, representations of landscapes on one wall and mirrors secured to the opposite Wall, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as On the outer my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHANN KRUMBACHER.
