A. P. YARNALL. ADJUSTABLE PILTERING AND PERUOLATING STAND.
Patented Mar. 4, 1890.
WITNESSES. f/Vl/EzVTOR UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBIN P. YARNALL, OF ASI-IBOURNE, PENNSYLVANIA.
ADJUSTABLE FILTERING AND PERCOLATING STAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 422,484, dated March 4, 1890.
A lication filed May 14, 1889. Serial No. 310,725- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1,-ALBIN P. YARNALL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ashbourne, county of Montgomery, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Adjustable Filtering and Percolating Stands, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing.
The drawing shows a perspective view of my improved device.
The object of my invention is to keep the neck of the funnel raised above the filtrate to prevent its interfering with the flow of the liquid; also to obviate the necessity for the removal of the funnel from the graduate to ascertain the quantity filtered, and at the same time to keep the graduate covered to prevent any foreign substance from falling into it, and to retard evaporation.
Referring to the drawing, 13 represents a wire frame or holder adjusted to the percolator or funnel by means of the slides C.
G represents a lid or cover, having a hole H in the center, part of the rim F cut out to fit over the lip of the graduate, and clips D-soldered to it, by means of which the frame Bis fastened to thelid or cover G, the ends being bent to pass under the clips D.
The manner of using the stand is simply to 5 of the frame B, which forms a ring, into which the funnel is placed, allowing the neck to pass through the hole H, which keeps it in a steady position.
Having thus described my invention, whatI claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
An adj ustable filtering and percolating stand, having a holder B, formed of wire sec tions'having bent lower ends and connected at their meeting sides by slides C, and the clips D, secured to the cover and provided. with a socket to receive the bent lower ends of the holder B, substantially as described.
' ALBIN P. YARNALL.
