SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 422,084, dated February 25, 1890..

Be it known that I, GEORGE W. LEARMAN, a citizen of the United, States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Ouyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Name-Plates for Burial-Caskets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a name-plate for burial-caskets comprising a scroll which serves as a name-plate, and a hollow cylinder from which it appears to be partly unrolled, the cylinder being provided with a removable cap and the inner receptacle provided with a tight cap and adapted to serve as a depository for records, substantially as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a burial-casket having my improved name-plate attached. Fig. 2 is a detached and enlarged view of my new name-plate. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section of the record-receptacle.
A represents a burial-casket, which may be of any of the well-known styles and finish. B is a name-plate, consisting of a sheet of metal in suitable design representing a scroll attached to a cylinder from which'it appears to be nnrolled. One end of said cylinder is Serial No. 304,104. (No modeL) tightly closed and the other is provided with a removable cap 0.
