To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LEVI WALKER, of Delhi, in the Province of Ontario, Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plow-Colters; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof.

My invention, which will be hereinafter fully set forth and claimed, relates to plowcolters.

The object of my invention is a reversible and adjustable colter that shall reduce the draft, make an effectual cut, and be easily and cheaply manufactured and kept in repair.

Figure l is an elevation of Ymy improved colter. Fig. 2 shows my improved colter in a different adjustment. Fig. 3 is a vertical section on line m, Fig. l. Fig. 4 is a transverse section on line y y, Fig. l; and Fig. 5 shows a modification of my improved colter.

The arrows show the direction in which the colter is intended to work.

A is a detachable coltershank, consisting of a straight flat bar having its lower end reduced in thickness from a square shoulder a at a right angle, or nearly so, to the shank, and forming a recess a for the reception of the colter-blade iiush with the fiat side of the shank. Said recess is provided with two bolt-holes c for the reception of bolts with sunk heads.

Being detachable, the blade B is readily and cheaply replaced when worn out, the shank practically lasting as long as the plow-frame. j

Anon-reversible draw-cut colter combining shank and blade in one and answering the same purpose as that shown in Fig. 1 as regards cutting quality is shown in Fig. 4, which practically represents the convex edges b of Figs. l and 2. i

I claim as my inventionl. 2. A reversible colter having a convex cutting-edge b, terminating `by a flat sweep in a point b', and a concave cutting-edge b, said cutting-edges joined by the point b', and a wide upper part having two straight edges b 5, meeting at an obtuse angle and determining the position of the blade on the shank, and said blade provided with boltholes B B B, substantially as set forth.`
