The said view represents the front of the head of one of the hammers or tumblers coming under one of the intercepting-bolts. Thus it will be seen that each hammer or tumbler has an intercepting-bolt of its own, which automatically places itself in front of its hammer, and is only removed therefrom by the pulling of that trigger by means of which it is operated.

These interceptingbolts are operated by the upper ends of ver tical pushers h i coming and acting against the inclines 6 f disposed on the under sides of the said intercepting-bolts. The lower under sides of the said pushers are inclined, against ,which the upwardly-extended. fore parts 7' k of the trigger-blades of the triggers j k act on the said triggers being pulled, so as to turn upwardly the said fore parts on their jointpin Z. Thus the pulling of the triggers forces the fore parts of the trigger-blades j 71: upon the inclines 72, t of the pushers 7L 2', thereby 7o raising the said pushers, which respectively act upon the inclines e f of the intercepting-bolts eff, thus causing the bolts to slide inwardly and in opposite directions and so take their protruding ends 6 f of the re- 75 spective bolts from in front of the heads g of the hammers g. The intercepting-bolts are automatically pressed home or into their intercepting positions by springs m n, whose free ends act upon the rears of the bolts.
It will be observed that the intercepting ends of the bolts are slightly rounded off on their front sides, so that the hammers on being cocked automatically force the bolts back, which then snap in front of the bolts, as represented in Figs. 2 and 3.
The trigger-safety consists of a single sliding limb o, with a V-shaped under part 0 and fore part 0' which latter slides through a guide 13 and comes against the rear end of the locking-bolt q, so that on the lever '7" being turned aside for the breaking of the barrels the safety-limb 0 is pressed back by the rear action of the bolt (1, as aforesaid.
0 is a snug on the fore part 0 adapted to come above the rear and upward extensions of the trigger-blades, so as to prevent the said triggers from rising.
0 is a vertical limb, with its upper end engaging with the safety-slide 3, while the said I00 sliding limb is'kept in its two positions by the free end i of a spring playing over inclined part 0 The limb slides upon the pin u, carried by a bracket upwardly directed from the under strap of the arm.
To fire the arm, press back the slides, when the limb 0 moves rearwardly, and with a snug 0 out of the rangeof motion of the rear extension of the triggel blades. The pulling of either one or other of the triggersas, for example, jraises its fore part 3' which acts upon the pusher 71, whose upper side impinges upon the incline e of the interceptin g-bolt e, thereby sliding inward the said bolt, and taking its intercepting and protruding end 6 from in front of the hammer or tumbler of the barrel intended to be fired, thus allowing the said hammer or tumbler to fall and discharge the arm.
Should the concussion created in the arm remove the sear o from the bent of the other hammer or tumbler, then the said hammer or tumbler is intercepted by the bolt end f of.
the bolt f coming in front of it.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as newand desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. In a concealed-hammer gun, the combination, with the hammers thereof and the intercepting cross-bolts e f, arranged, respect ively, side by side at the back of the breechbody part, of the pushers h 1', formed with the inclines 71 2' vertically movable below said bolts, and the triggers 7' 70, upon which the pushers rest, substantially as described.
2. In a concealed-hammer gun, the combination, with the'hammers and lock mechanism, of the transverse bolts 6 f, arranged side by side at the back of the breech-body and formed with the under side inclines 6 f engaged by vertically-movable pushers, and the springs m n, impinging against the ends of said bolts, substantially as set forth.
3. In a concealed-hammer gun, the combination, with the rear body part d and hammersg g, of intercepting-bolts e f, arranged at the back of the breech-body part, pushers h 2', engaging with and located below said bolts and above the triggers, and the triggers jj 70 le as set forth.
4. In a concealed-hammer gun, the combination, with the hammers g g, the cross-bolts e f, arranged at the back of the body part and having inclines e f of the pushers h '6, located below said cross-bolts and having inclines 71 t and the triggers 2' 7a, with fore extensions 713 bearing on said inclines, substantially as described.
