STEPHEN BRIGGS HOLDEN, OF MEADVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA..
IMPROVEMENT IN RAILROAD-CAR SEATS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 39,652. dated August 25, 1363.

Be it known that I, STEPHEN B. HOLDEN, of Meadville, in the county of Crawford, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a. new and Improved Railroad-Car Seat; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon.
A is the bottom of my car-seat, (see Figure l), B, the back of the same, constructed in the usual manner.
C G C C O C are the supports, made of cast-iron, or any other suitable material. On these supports is a iiange, R R, to which is bolted the U-shaped spring E E.
D D D D are four supporters, attached t0 C C C C C C C by bolts,(shown at S S S S.) so as to move freely. These supports pass up above the cross-piece N, Fig. 2, and are attached to the seat-frame A by bolts at M M.
