Abstract

A guided dispenser and applicator for chemical mixtures or drain oil from gasoline crank cases effective for the eradication of unwanted vegetation in expansion joints of cement walks, patios and the like equipped with a tubular reservoir and a tandem wheeled base. A novel valve releases the weed killer when the tubular reservoir is manually inclined at appropriate angles.

Patent Nov. 18, 1975 GUIDED DISPENSER AND APPLICATOR FOR LIQUID VEGETATION EXTERMINATION SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-sectional view of a guided dispenser and applicator for liquid vegetation extermination embodying the invention.
FIG. 2 is an end view in elevation of the tandem wheeled base, showing the periphery structure of the wheels for guiding the device in the spaced expansion joints of a concrete walk or the like FIG. 3 is a view partly in elevation and partly in section of a modified form of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION The device 10 has a tubular handle 11, serving as a reservoir for growth killing chemical mixtures, which is crowned by a ventilated and releasable, closure cap 12. The handle 11 at its lower end is fixed in the pivoted element 13 which has .an axial vertical bore at 14 adapted to register separately with cross apertures at 15 of the valve 16 fixed in the base 17 provided with the tandem aligned ground bearing wheels 18. The wheel peripherys are beveled.
In a modified form of the invention a handle grip 20 is mounted and fixed on the upper end 21 of a tube 22. A flange 23 thereon is attached to an encircling tank 25. A pull handle 26 is fixed to the upper end of a rod 27, which latter is threaded at 28 to a stopper 29 which normally contains fluid within the tank 25, by means of the coil expansion spring 30. Upward manual pressure on the pull handle 26 lifts the rod 27 to lift the stopper 29 thus passing the treating chemical fluid through the port 33 and passage 34 on to the vegetation.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed and desired to be secured by' Letters Patent of the United States, is:
1. A guided liquid dispenser and applicator including a tubular handle and reservoir for chemical vegetation extermination fluids, a vented cap fixed to the upper end of said handle, a block element fixed to the lower end of the handle having a vertical bore therein communicating with the handle reservoir, a tandem wheeled base pivoted to said block element, and a cross valve fixed in the wheeled base which will register with the bore in said block when the handle is tilted in either direction thus dispensing the fluid as desired.
2. A device as in Claim 1, with the tandem wheels so formed at the periphery thereof that the wheel circumferences are narrowed toward the ground bearing rims thereof and are adapted to run in the varied widths of transverse expansion joints as in concrete walks to guide the movement of the device in use.

Claims (2)
