Abstract
A holder for display of a data sheet or pamphlet mounted in the device. The holder is formed of a continuous section of metal or plastic sheet in the form of a flat display backing panel shaped at one end by a circular bent section to form a grip section for holding the data sheet grip to be displayed, with said bent section terminating in a flange which projects a distance behind the panel and at an acute angle to the panel to maintain the panel at an acute angle to a surface against which the ends of the flange and panel are rested.
Description
United States Patent [191 Garrison Oct. 28, 1975 [54] DATA SHEET HOLDER [75] Inventor: Leon E. Garrison, Richardson, Tex.
[22] Filed: Apr. 26, 1974 [21] Appl. No.: 464,470
Primary ExaminerRobert W. Michell Assistant Examiner-Wenceslao J. Contreras Attorney, Agent, or Firm-Howard I. Podell [5 7] ABSTRACT A holder for display of a data sheet or pamphlet mounted in the device. The holder is formed of a continuous section of metal or plastic sheet in the form of a flat display backing/panel shaped at one end by a circular bent section to form a grip section for holding the data sheet grip to be displayed, with said bent section terminating in a flange which projects a distance behind the panel and at an acute angle to the panel to maintain the panel at an acute angle to a surface against which the ends of the flange and panel are rested.
1 Claim, 3 Drawing Figures U.S. Patent Oct.'28,1975
FIG. I
DATA SHEET HOLDER SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING The objects and features of the invention may be understood with reference to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of the invention, taken together with the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is a side elevation view of the data sheet holder;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the data sheet holder; and
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the data sheet holder mounted in alternative manner.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT:
Turning now descriptively to the drawings, in which similar reference characters denote similar elements throughout the several views, FIGS. 1-3 illustrate the data display holder on which a data sheet or television schedule 18 may be readily mounted.
The holder 10 is formed of a continuous sheet of plastic or metal which is formed with a flat panel section 17 that is bent at one end 22 in the shape of a reentrant curve section to fold back against end 22 of the panel section 17 so as to form a clamp, with the sheet then being bent about the exterior of the curve section 15 to form a flat flange section that is at an acute angle to the plane of the panel section 17.
The end of a data sheet 18 or pamphlet may be slipped between the end 22 of the panel section and the curved section 15 to be tightly clamped in place, and the flange 20 of the device 10 may be rested on a flat surface as shown in FIG. 1. Alternately as shown in FIG. 2, the free end 22 of the flange section and the free end 23 of the panel section may be rested in a flat surface 30, with the plane of the panel section 17 oriented in either position at an angle to the resting surface 30 for the convenient display of a data sheet 18 mounted to the device 10.
Since obvious changes may be made in the specific embodiment of the invention described herein, such modifications being within the spirit and scope of the invention claimed, it is indicated that all matter contained herein is intended as illustrative and not as limiting in scope.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is new and I desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
l. A holder device for the display of a data sheet clamped to the holder device, comprising a continuous sheet of material which is formed with a flat panel backing section, a flat flange section and a curved section which joins one end of the panel backing section to one end of the flange section, said curved section formed in the shape of a reentrant curve that extends from the end of the panel backing section, and back to the panel section end and then is bent about said reentrant curve to join to said one end of the flange section, said curved section extending from the end of the panel backing section rearwards away from the rear surface of the panel backing section and then curving in a circular arc clamp section about the end of the panel backing section to a position in which a flat straight section of the sheet that is a continuation of the circular arc clamp section extends as a tangent to the said circular arc clamp section and lies adjacent to and in front of the front surface of the panel backing section at which position the sheet curves back upon itself to extend adjacent the outside of the circular arc clamp section to join the end of the flange section with the plane of the flange section oriented at an acute angle to the plane of the panel backing section, said circular arc clamp section serving as spring means to apply bias to clamp a data sheet between the front surface of the panel backing section and the said flat straight section which lies adjacent to and in front of the front surface of the panel backing section.
Claims (1)
