FIG.3
TILTABLE MEASURING TRAP WITH REMOVABLE DISPENSING DRAWER DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a bulk powder dispenser for a box or box accessory. More particularly, the invention relates to a box accessory for incremental removal of predetermined portions of powder from a box.
Objects of the invention are to provide a box accessory of simple structure for incremental removal of predetermined portions of powder such as, for example, soap powder or detergent, from a box, which box accessory is inexpensive in manufacture, installed and removed with facility and convenience, used with rapidity and simplicity and functions with efficiency, effectiveness and reliability to fill a container with a predetermined amount of the powder without waste.
In order that the invention may be readily carried into effect, it will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of the box accessory of the invention;
FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the embodiment of FIG. I mounted on a box in upright position; and
FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the embodiment of FIG. I mounted on a box in upside-down position.
In the FIGS., the same components are identified by the same reference numerals.
The box accessory of the invention is for incremental removal of predetermined portions of powder 1 (FIGS. 2 and 3) from a box 2.
In accordance with the invention, the box accessory comprises a housing 3 having a puncturing part 4 (FIGS. 2 and 3) for puncturing the box 2 of powder 1 to form a hole 5 (FIGS. 2 and 3) in the box nextadjacent a side 6 of said box. The housing also has a clamping part 7 (FIGS. 2 and 3) for clamping the side 6 of the box in a manner whereby the housing 3 covers the hole 5 formed in the box.
A cup-like container 8 is removably housed in the housing 3 in a manner whereby when the box 2 is turned upside-down, as shown in FIG. 3, powder 1 from the box enters the housing in the area of the cup. When the box 2 is then turned right-side-up, as shown in FIG. 2, powder 1 in the housing 3 fills the container 8.
The housing 3 comprises a pair of segments 9 and 10 extending at substantially right angles to each other. The segment 9 covers and supports the puncturing part 4 and covers the hole 5 formed in the box 2. The segment 10 extends along the outside of the side 6 of the box 2 adjacent the hole 5 and houses the container 8.
The clamping part 7 comprises a side II of the seg ment I0 of the housing 3 and a tongue 12 extending substantially parallel with said side and spaced therefrom by substantially the thickness of the side 6 of the box 2. The tongue 12 abuts the inside of the side 6 of the box 2.
While the invention has been described by means of a specific example and in a specific embodiment. I do not wish to be limited thereto. for obvious modifications will occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
I claim:
1. A box accessory for incremental removal of predetermined portions of powder from a box, said box accessory comprising a housing having a puncturing part for puncturing a box of powder to form a hole in the box nextadjacent a side of the box and a clamping part for clamping the side of the box in a manner whereby the housing covers the hole formed in the box, said housing comprising a pair of segments extending at substantially right angles to each other, one of the segments covering and supporting the puncturing part and covering the hole formed in the box and the other of the segments extending along the outside of the side of the box adjacent the hole and housing the container; and
a cup-like container removably housed in the housing in a manner whereby when the box is turned upside-down, powder from the box enters the housing in the area of the cup and when the box is then turned right-side-up, powder in the housing fills the container.
2. A box accessory as claimed in claim 1, wherein the clamping part comprises a side of the other of the segments of the housing and a tongue extending substantially parallel with said side and spaced therefrom by substantially the thickness of the side of the box and abutting the inside of said side of the box.
Claims (2)
1. A box accessory for incremental removal of predetermined portions of powder from a box, said box accessory comprising a housing having a puncturing part for puncturing a box of powder to form a hole in the box next-adjacent a side of the box and a clamping part for clamping the side of the box in a manner whereby the housing covers the hole formed in the box, said housing comprising a pair of segments extending at substantially right angles to each other, one of the segments covering and supporting the puncturing part and covering the hole formed in the box and the other of the segments extending along the outside of the side of the box adjacent the hole and housing the container; and a cup-like container removably housed in the housing in a manner whereby when the box is turned upside-down, powder from the box enters the housing in the area of the cup and when the box is then turned right-side-up, powder in the housing fills the container.
2. A box accessory as claimed in claim 1, wherein the clamping part comprises a side of the other of the segments of the housing and a tongue extending substantially parallel with said side and spaced therefrom by substantially the thickness of the side of the box and abutting the inside of said side of the box.
