Aegcrtcr [57] ABSTRACT A device for positioning a paper stack in a paper cutting machine includes a thrust means extending downwardly from a movable rail and having a pressure plate adapted to pivot against one side of a paper stack and exert a force against the side of the stack and toward a vertical support means on the other side of the stack.
1 Claim, 2 Drawing Figures DEVICE FOR EXACT ANGLE-POSITIONING OF PAPER PILES IN PAPER CU'I'IERS The novelty of the invention is based on a device for the accurate stacking of paper stacks in cutting machines. It is not always possible for the operator to place large and heavy paper stacks in an accurate position on the side supports of the cutting table from the operators side. It is necessary sometimes to have a helper along side of the machine to assist in the feeding preparations.
The new device eliminates the well known disadvantages and is being displayed in its design form in the drawing:
FIG. 1: A sideview I of FIG. 2
FIG. 2: A top view of the cutting machine with the new device for the accurate stacking of paper stacks.
The guide rail (2) installed on the machine cutting head body (1) supports and pilots one end of a rail (3) positioned above the backgauge (19). The other end rests upon a supporting track (4), which is arranged parallel and at the same heights with guiding rail (2) at the end of the operating table (5). The rail (3), which can be adjusted in the direction of arrow (6), can be locked in any chosen position recorded with indicator (7) on scale (8). The thrusting device (10) movable on rail (3) in the direction of arrow (9) can be adjusted in pressure, can be programmed in the cutting cycle and the automatic process of the machine.
The thrusting process can be achieved for instance by means of the pressure plate (17), which is being rotated around joint (13) by a jointed lever (16) and cylinder (14), via a thrusting lever (15) against the paper stack,
which comes to a stationary position on the side support. Connecting lever (18) supports the pressure plate (17) on the thrusting device (10). The sample arrangement of levers services for clarification. The novelty is not limited to the given example. Direct feeding, or other lever motivations, are also possible.
I claim: I
l. A device for the accurate positioning of a paper stack in a paper cutting machine, said device including generally horizontal first support means supporting said stack, generally vertical second support means extending along one extremity of said first support means, a pair of spaced apart parallel stationary guide rails extending perpendicular to said second support means and positioned above the level of said first support means, a movable rail extending between said fixed rails and being perpendicular thereto, said movable rail being located at the height of said fixed rails and having means slidably securing it to each of said fixed rails for slidable movement therealong, and stack positioning means having means slidably securing it to said movable rail for sliding movement therealong between said fixed rails, said stack positioning means including thrust means extending down from the height of said movable rail, said thrust means having a pressure plate extending generally downwardly and pivotally mounted for movement in the direction of said stack to exert a force against said stack in a direction toward said second support means to urge said stack against said second means, and means for causing said pressure plate to moveand exert said force.

Claims (1)

1. A device for the accurate positioning of a paper stack in a paper cutting machine, said device including generally horizontal first support means supporting said stack, generally vertical second support means extending along one extremity of said first support means, a pair of spaced apart parallel stationary guide rails extending perpendicular to said second support means and positioned above the level of said first support means, a movable rail extending between said fixed rails and being perpendicular thereto, said movable rail being located at the height of said fixed rails and having means slidably securing it to each of said fixed rails for slidable movement therealong, and stack positioning means having means slidably securing it to said movable rail for sliding movement therealong between said fixed rails, said stack positioning means iNcluding thrust means extending down from the height of said movable rail, said thrust means having a pressure plate extending generally downwardly and pivotally mounted for movement in the direction of said stack to exert a force against said stack in a direction toward said second support means to urge said stack against said second means, and means for causing said pressure plate to move and exert said force.
