Description
A.-C. BROWN4 Churn Dasher.
Patented April 14, 1863.
mewea ,94 WWW UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
A. O.BROWN, OF SYCAMORE, ILLINOIS.
IMPROVEMENT lN CHURN-DASHERS.
Specificaton forming part of Letters Patent No. 38,!45, dated April 14, 1863.
.7'0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, A. (J. BROWN, of Sycamore, in the county of De Kalb and. State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Churn-Dashers; and I hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, and to the letters and figures marked thereon, Which form a part of this specification. I
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my churn-dasher; Fig. 2, a plan or top View of the same, and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the bottom thereof.
Similar letters in the several figures represent corresponding parts of my invention.
To enable others skilled in the art to understand the construction and operation of my improved churn-dasher, I Will proceed to describe it with particularity.
My improved churn-dasher is constructed of tin or any suitable material, and it consists of two distinct parts, connected, as shown by the rawin gs, by the standards, (marked a,) which are firmly and strongly soldered or otherwise fastened to the parts A and B. The lower part (marked A) is in the form of a section of a hollow cone made by planes passing through said cone parallel to the base thereof, the upper base of which section is shown by the cirpeculiar configuration of A presses the cream toward the center, and forces it violently up through the central openings, b, against the conical sides of B, whose inclined surfaces throw off the cream against the sides of the churn, whence it falls to the bottom, again to be agitated in a similar manner, thus effcctin g a greater agitation of the cream than is possible by any other dasher in use.
I claim as my invention- The churn-dasher, constructed and operating substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
A. o. BROWN.
