  • ABSTRACT A double curtain device wherein a curtain (5) provided with punched patterns (29) is connected at the respective ends with a main winding shaft (2) and auxiliary winding shaft (3) both rotatably provided between right and left supporting cases (1), a balance weight shaft (8) is inserted and held in a folded part (7) of the curatin (5) so as to tension the curtain (5), a joint (9) is slidably fitted to the main winding shaft (2) so that the length of the main winding shaft (2) may be adjustable, said auxiliary winding shaft (3) is formed by fitting a small diameter tube (15) provided with an axial groove (14) cut on one side into a large diameter tube (16) provided also with an axial groove (14) cut on one side, many annular concave grooves (17) and annular convex parts (18) fitting them are formed respectively in the fitting parts of the small diameter tube (15) and large diameter tube (16) so that the length of the auxiliary winding shaft may be adjustable and a winding chain (25) is hung on a chain wheel (24) secured to one end of the
  • PAIEMEB FEB 5 I974 SHEET 3 BF 3 DOUBLE CURTAIN DEVICE This invention is a double curtain device wherein proper punched patterns for ventilation are formed in a curtain made to be wound up in both end parts with winding shafts so as to be of a double formation in the suspended part.
  • FIG. 1 is a vertically sectioned elevation with a part omitted:
  • FIG. 2 is a vertically sectioned side view of the same
  • FIG. 3 is a vertically sectioned side view showing a main winding shaft
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing a joint
  • FIG. 5 is a partly sectioned perspective view showing a fitting part of anauxiliary winding shaft
  • FIG. 6 is a partly sectioned elevation showing a supporting case
  • FIG. 7 is a bottom view of FIG. 6.
  • a main winding shaft (2) and auxiliary winding shaft (3) are rotatably horizontally set in supporting cases (1), fitting concave grooves (4) extended in the axial direction are properly made on the peripheral surface of the main winding shaft (2), a curtain (5) is fitted to the main winding shaft (2) by inserting and fitting a wire (6) on which the curtain (5) is wound at one end into the fitting concave groove (4) and is fitted at the other end to the auxiliary winding shaft (5) and a balance weight shaft (8) provided with a flange at each end is inserted into a folded part (7) of the curtain (5) wound at both ends so as to tension the curtain (5).
  • the above mentioned main winding shaft (2) is divided into two parts in the middle in the axial direction and both parts are connected with each other through a joint (9) for adjusting the length.
  • a pair of sliders (12) provided with a bent piece (10) on each side, having an engaging piece (11) in one end part and slidable within the main winding shaft (2) are connected with each other by leaving a proper clearance between them through adjusting set screws (13) so that, when the clearance between both sliders (12) is expanded by adjustingthe adjusting set screws (13), the bent pieces (10) may be pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the main winding shaft (2) to connect and fix the divided parts of the main winding shaft (2) with each other.
  • the auxiliary winding shaft (3) is formed by fitting a small diameter tube provided with an axial groove (14) cut on one side into a large diameter tube (16) provided also with an axial groove (14) cut on one side, annular concave grooves (17) are provided at proper intervals on the outside peripheral surface of the fitting part of the small diameter tube (15), annular convex parts (18) fitting the above mentioned annular concave grooves (17) are provided to project on the inside peripheral surface of the fitting part of the large diameter tube (16) and the annular concave grooves (17) are properly fitted to the annular convex parts (18) by a spring action through the above mentioned cut axial grooves (14) to freely adjust the length.
  • an adjusting rod (19) connected with the flange is adjustably inserted and fitted in the balance weight shaft.
  • the lengths of the main winding shaft (2), auxiliary winding shaft (3) and balance weight shaft (8) are made adjustable in response to the fitting position of the curtain (5).
  • a winding rope (21) is hung on the projecting end of the main winding shaft (2) through a rope pulley (20), a pair of engaging pawls (22) are swingably provided closely to the winding rope 21).
  • Said engaging pawl (22) is formed arcuately and has engaging teeth (23) in the free end part to engage the winding rope 21) in any position so that, at the time of winding up the winding rope (21), the engaging pawl may swing downward due to its own weight to disengage the rope but normally the engaging teeth (23) may bite into the winding rope (21) and may engage and fix the rope by holding it with one side of the supporting case (1).
  • a winding chain (25) is hung on the projecting end of the auxiliary winding shaft (3) through a chain wheel (24) in the same manner as is mentioned above and engaging holes (26) are made as opposed to the chain on the bottom surface of the supporting case (1) so that the winding chain (25 that is, the auxiliary winding shaft (3) may be engaged in any position.
  • each of the above mentioned engaging holes (26) has an engaging groove (27) directed inward so that a connecting neck part (28) of the winding chain (25) may engage the groove (27).
  • Punched patterns (29) are formed in the curtain (5) so as to be overlapped to form through hole parts by the overlapping state of the curtain (5).
  • the curtain (5) wound on the main winding shaft (2) is properly wound up through the winding rope (21) so that the suspended length of the curtain may coincide with the height of the window frame (not illustrated).
  • the auxiliary winding shaft (3) is rotated through the winding chain (25) for the slight adjustment of the punched patterns. That is to say, when the suspended length of the curtain (5) varies unfavorably if the punched patterns (29) are adjusted only by the winding of the'main winding shaft (2), the auxiliary winding shaft (3) is adjusted and rotated to adjust the suspended length together with the patterns. Needless to say, it is possible as mentioned above to adjust the lengths of the main winding shaft (2), auxiliary winding shaft (3) and balance weight shaft (8) in response to the width of the curtain (5) or fitting window frame.
  • a curtain (5) provided with punched patterns (29) is connected at the respective ends with a main winding shaft (2) and auxiliary winding shaft (3) both rotatably provided between right and left supporting cases (1), a balance weight shaft (8) is inserted and held in a folded part (7) of the curtain (5) so as to tension the curtain (5), a joint (9) is slidably fitted to the main winding shaft (2) so that the length of the main winding shaft (2) may be adjustable, said auxiliary winding shaft (3) is fonned by fitting a small diameter tube (15 provided with an axial-groove (14) cut on one side into a large diameter tube (16) provided also with an axial groove (14) cut on one side, many annular concave grooves (17) and annular convex parts (18) fitting them are formed respectively in the fitting parts of the small diameter tube (15) and large diameter tube (16) so that the length of the auxiliary winding shaft may be adjustable, a winding chain (25) is hung on a chain wheel (24) secured to one end
