It is therefore the primary purpose of this invention to provide a floating hunting blind which will have compartment means for the hunter to thus enable the hunter to shoot from a standing or sitting position while the craft will remain stable.
Another object of this invention is to provide a hunting blind of the type described which will have cleat members on the deck portion for anchoring the device and the device will include hatches, a door and a motor well.
A further object of this invention is to provide a hunting blind of the type described which will have transom means secured within an extension of the device, so as to mount rigidly, an outboard motor or an electric motor.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a hunting blind of the type described which will have compartment means for the storage of gas tanks, a fire extinguisher and the like and the super structure will have an open mesh netting portion at its upper extremity and on the interior thereof, will be a compass for navigational purposes.
. Other objects of the present invention are to provide a hunting blind for a single hunter, which will be simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawings wherein:
FIG. 1 isa top plan view of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a side view of FIG. 1 shown partly in section with the outboard motor shown installed thereon.
FIG. 3 is a front view of FIG. 2.
According to this invention, a floating hunting blind 10 is shown to include a circular hull 11 made of fiberglass. The inside of the hull is to be sprayed with 4 inches of polyurethane to provide flotation. Extending from the bottom of hull 11 are a pair of parallel spaced apart runners 12 and extending from the front end and fixedly secured thereto, is an eye 13 for mooring purposes. The upper extremity of hull 11 includes a deck 14 from which extends a pair of cleats 1 which serve to aid in mooring blind 10. The tank containing compartments of blind are provided with a screened vent 16 and a gas fill plate 17 on deck 14 provides a means of filling the gas tank which herein after will be described.
Extending upwards from deck 14 and fixedly secured thereto by suitable means, is a super structure 18 -of hollow configuration to which is attached on its inside, a compass 19 for-navigational purposes. A top portion 20 is separatable from a netting 2 1 which enables the a pair of gasoline tanks 24 and within a rear compartment defined within hull 11, is secured a fire extinguisher 25 which is quickly released. An extension 26 of hull 11 is provided with a well portion 27 in which is fixedly secured a transom 28 which serves as a means for rigidly and removably mounting an outboard motor 29 or an electric motor (not shown).
It shall be noted that the motor throttle and gearshift box may be mounted on the right side of the dry well, and the stick steering may be mounted on the left side of the dry well.
What I claim is:
l. A floating hunting blind, comprising in combination, a bouyant fiberglass hull of hollow and circular configuration, compartment means within said hull providing storage for gasoline tanks and other items, a deck portion being provided on said hull and having pivotable hatch means for covering and uncovering said compartments, a super-structure on said hull providing shelter and blind means for a hunter, door means on said blind enabling entry thereinto, an extension carried by said hull providing means for mounting a motor for propelling said blind, and cleats and an eye enabling said blind to be moored, said hull being of shallow draft and including runners extending parallel with each other upon a bottom side of said hull, said runners providing stability for said hull, said extension of said hull extending radially from a center of said hull and being provided with a well, a transom fixedly secured to said extension and serving as the mounting means for said motor to be used to propel said blind to and from a hunting location, said deck extending to said transom, said deck having said cleats, a bow of said hull having said eye for mooring said blind, said eyelet receiving a line to be used in conjunction with a line engaging one of said cleats during mooring, said superstructure being hollow to provide shelter for said hunter so that said hunter may not be seen by a game being hunted, said pivotable hatch means being on an interior of said superstructure, said door means being supported pivotally on said superstructure to enable quick entry and exit from said superstructure, said superstructure at its upper extremity having a top, the upper said hull including vent means for said gas tanks.

Claims (1)
