. INVENTOR. M175? 1! PUG/47E SOAKER HOSE REEL FIELD OF THE INVENTION My invention is directed toward a reel for lawn hose, particularly common flat soaker hose. The hose, when reeled up, never gets twisted or warped because of improper storage during unused periods. Moreover, the reeled hose has a neat and orderly appearance while hanging from a suitable garage or storage room wall the like.
SUMMARY BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 is a perspective of my invention in use; FIG. 2 is a side elevation thereof; and
FIGS. 3 and 4 are detail cross sections thereof.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. l-4, rods or bars and 12 are secured together at a common midpoint 14 to define a first vertical generally flat coplanar cross. One end 16 of rod 10 is flat and has a hole 18 therein. The two ends of rod 12 have tips 20 extending parallel to each other and at right angles to rod 12.
Rods or bars 22 and 24 are secured together at a midpoint 26 to define a second cross. Central portions 22 and 24' of these members are secured to midpoint 14 by pin 28 whereby the crosses are each freely rotatable about the pin.
to the plane of the first cruciform member. Between the portions 22' and 22" is an offset portion 25, on each side of the center, and a similar offset portion 26 is between the portions 24 and 24". These offsets form a hub onto which the hose is wound. Tips 20 of member 24 extend inward toward tips 20 of member 12 and are parallel. One end of member 22 carries handle 30.
In use, the end of hose 32 opposite faucet end 34 is secured to the device by string 36. Member 10 is held in one hand, the handle 30 is held in the other, and the device is wound until the fitting stops at a tip. The reel can then be hung from a wall by hole 18.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:
1. A device for holding a lawn hose comprising; a first generally flat and coplanar cross, a second cross with outer coplanar sections lying in a plane parallel to and spaced from said first cross, said outer coplanar sections having offset portions extending between said sections and said first cross, and terminating in an inner central section which is rotatably secured to said first cross permitting relative rotation there between, said crosses have a common axis extending through the cenangles thereto.

Claims (3)

1. A device for holding a lawn hose comprising; a first generally flat and coplanar cross, a second cross with outer coplanar sections lying in a plane parallel to and spaced from said first cross, said outer coplanar sections having offset portions extending between said sections and said first cross, and terminating in an inner central section which is rotatably secured to said first cross permItting relative rotation there between, said offset portions forming a hub to permit said hose to be wound about said portions and be disposed between said sections and said first cross.
2. A device as set forth in claim 1, wherein said crosses have a common axis extending through the centers of both crosses in a direction perpendicular to both planes, said crosses being individually rotatable about the axis relative to each other.
3. A device as set forth in claim 2, wherein one bar of one cross is elongated and has a handle secured thereto adjacent an outer end and extending at right angles thereto.
