' I UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EP RAIM HAMBUJER, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR or ONE-HALF TO s. WIGHTMAN STEWART, or SAME PLACE.
STORE-SERVICE APPARATUS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 374,052, dated November 29, 18817. I
Application filed August 8, 1887.
Io This invention relates to new and useful.
improvements in store-service apparatus or cash-carriers; and the invention consists in the-peculiar construction and arrangement of the motor and carrier, all as more fully here- I inafter described.
In the drawings which accompany this specification, Figured is a perspective view ofthe motor, and Fig. 2 is a vertical central section of the motor and carrier. I A is a hanger, to which is secured in any suitable manner one end of the single-wire track 13. I v G is a cross-bar secured by clamping, by means of a similar cross-bar or otherwise,to 2 the hanger A. Projecting horizontally from this cross-bar and secured thereto are two parallel guide-rods, D, upon which are sleeved the springs E. To the free end of these guiderods D is adjustably secured a cross-head, F, 0 to which is centrally hinged the catch G, the
free end of which terminates in a wedge- Shaped incline.
H is a lever fulcrumed at I in any suitable manner'upon' the hanger A, and with its free 5 end projecting downward in. suitable proximity to the floor, to be operated therefrom.
The upper'end of this lever is adapted to engage with the catch G, as shown in Fig. 2, and by moving the lever in the proper direction 40 the catch G strikes the. stop J, which has an To the lower end of this top is detachably secured in any suitable manner the usual recep- 5ov tacle, N, for the reception of the cash, and by means of the arm 0, detachably secured to the top of the carrier, a basket, P, of any suitable Serial No. 246,376. (No model.)
description, maybe carried along with the carrier.
Q is a yoke securedto the cross-head F, and
suitable spring, T, may be arranged to spring the lever H into its "normal position after its actuation, and the braces V are arranged to 6 hold the'hanger A in a firm position i What I claim as my invention is 1. In a store-service apparatus, the combination, with a hanger, of a cross-bar secured thereon, laterally-projecting guiderods on yo said cross-bar, coil-springs sleeved upon said guide-rods, across-head adapted to slide upon said guide-rods and to be reciprocated thereon,
a catch centrally hinged to said cross-head, a lever adapted to engage with said catch, and 7 5 a stop adapted to release the lever from engagement with the catch, substantially as de scribed.
head movable upon said guide-rods and pro- 'vided with spring-jaws, a lever adapted to move said cross-head and thereby compress the springs, a single-wire track, and a catch upon said track adapted to automatically dis-. engage the lever and cross-head, as and for the purpose specified.
3. In a store-service apparatus, the combination, with the hanger andthe track B, secured at one end thereto, of the stop J on said track and having an incline, K, a springpressed cross-head, a catch, G, carried thereby,
and a lever fulcrumed on the hanger and engaging said catch, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in presence of two witnesses, this 28th day of July, 1887.
EPHRAIM HAMBUJER.
