PATENHilJyunz01m v 1 3 INVENTOR Ruby Nupoli BOARD GAME APPARATUS This invention relates generally to activity games. More specifically the present invention relates to an activity game which may be played by adults as well as children.
A principal object of the present invention is to provide a novel spin and roll game which may be played competitively between players to provide diversion and entertainment.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a spin and roll game which incorporates the use of a game board, a spinner, sets of cards and a pair of dice.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a spin and roll game which may be played by up to four players.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a spin and roll game which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification together with the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIG. 1 is a top plan view of the game board with the spinner centrally positioned thereupon,
FIG. 2 is a faceview of several of the playing cards used in thepresent game; and
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a pair of dice which are also used in playing the game.
Referring now to the drawing in detail, the reference numeral represents a spin and roll game, according to the present invention, wherein there is an enlarged circular game board 11 which is approximately 21 inches in diameter, the game board having a series of concentric circles imprinted upon an upper side 12 thereof, an innermost circle 13 being three inches in diameter, a next circle 14 being 13 inches in diameter, and an outermost circle 15 being 17 inches in diameter, so that the space between the circles 13 and 14 is 5 inches in width, thespace between the circles 14 and 15 being 2 inches in width, and the space between circle 15 and the outeredge of the game board being two inches in width.
The upper side 12 of the game board 11 has additionally printed thereupon a plurality of four radially extending lines 17 which are spaced 90 apart, the radially extending lines 17 and the circular lines 13, 14 and 15 dividing the upper side 12 of the game board into a plurality of spaces 18 each one of which has imprinted thereupon a particular text such as is shown in FIG. 1. The outermost spaces 18 are all imprinted with the text Cards face up," and the spaces adjacent these outermost spaces are each imprinted with the word pot." The next innermost spaces 18 are imprinted with the text "roll dice."
upon the central space of the game board 11 which is defined by the circular line 13 there is placed a spinner which includes a disc which is 3 inches in diameter to correspond with the size of the area within circular line 13. Upon the upper side of the disc there are six radially extending lines 20 imprinted, the lines 20 being equal distances apart to form six spaces 21 therebetween. Each of the spaces 21 are imprinted with a numeral 22, the numerals 22 including a pair of numerals l a pair of numerals 2 and a pair of numerals 3. A spinner arrow 23 is freely pivotable about a central rivet 24 mounted upon the spinner disc or body.
Additionally the present invention includes a plurality of playing cards 25, as shown in FIG. 2 of the drawing, the cards 25 being divided into four sets, each of the sets being imprinted in a different color and each of the sets having each one of the cards therein imprinted with a numeral 26 upon the front side thereof, the numerals 26 including numbers from 2 through 12.
Additionally the present invention also includes a pair of dice 27 of conventional type, each one of which is provided with six sides, each one of the sides thereof having imprinted or otherwise visually formed thereon from one to six dots as is well known in dice.
In operative use, the spin and roll game is played in the following manner:
Four players or less may play the game. The game board is placed upon a supportive surface, and the spinner is centrally positioned upon the game board. Each player gets a set of the cards which are numbered from two through 12. Each player places his cards on the dice board or game board 11 so that every card number may be readily seen by all players. Each player rolls the dice and the one that gets the highest number starts the game. Each player may take a turn spinning before he rolls the dice to determine how many times he or she may roll. When the player rolls the dice and the number on the dice matches a card number he may lay the card in the pot space and continue this until he has finished his turn. The next player moving clockwise may then take his turn. The player who has placed all of his cards in the pot space first is declared the winner.
Thus, in the game, the cards originally laid out in the space indicated by the text cards face up are moved to the space indicated by the text pot, the space indicated by the text roll dice is the area where the person may roll his dice.
Thus there is provided a spin and roll game of novel type for amusement and diversion of adults and children.
What I now claim is:
1. In a spin and roll game, the combination of a circular game board, a centrally positioned spinner placed upon said game board, a plurality of playing cards and a pair of dice, said circular game board being 21 inches in diameter and provided at its center with a three inch diameter space upon which said spinner is placed, a circle nearest around said central, three inch diameter space being 13 inches in diameter and an outermost circle being 17 inches in diameter, said central space and circles together with the outer edge of said game board being concentric, four radially extending imprinted lines equal distances apart dividing the upper side of said game board into a plurality of playing spaces, said spinner comprising a circular disc of a size to fit upon said central space of said game board, the upper side of said spinner being divided by means of six radially extending lines spaced equally apart into six spaces, each one of said six spaces being imprinted with a numeral, and a spinner arrow being supported rotatably free upon a rivet centrally mounted upon said spinner, said playing cards comprising four sets of cards, each set being of a different color nd each set having each card imprinted with one numeral from 2 to 12, said dice each having six sides each of which has from one to six dots thereon, said cards being of no more than two inches in height so that they may be placed upon the outermost space of said game board defined between the game board outer edge and the outermost circle.
