4 Claims, 4 Drawing Figures 25 11111111 "HHHHI'Hl h p e 1 1 COMBINED, JACK, AND CLAMP, SURE, CLAMP SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In accordance with my invention, a vertical post extends upward from a suitable base. A horizontal frame elongated is secured at one end to the top of the post. The frame has a plurality of spaced vertical bores extending side by side longitudinally therealong.
An elongated horizontal member aligned with and disposed below the frame has one end secured by manually operable jack operated means to the post whereby the member can be moved up or down between base and frame. A vertical rod can extend through any one of the bores and be adapted to move up and down therein. The bottom end of the rod can support a horizontal disc which cooperates with the upper surface of the horizontal member as a clamp.
Thus, in my invention, I provide a combined jack and clamp adapted for example to raise or lower automobile bodies while selectively clamping portions thereof as desired BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 is a side view of my invention;
FIG. 2 is a detail view of a jack mechanism used in my invention;
FIG. 3 is an enlarged detail view of the clamp; and
FIG. 4 is a top view of my invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring now to FIGS. 1-4, a vertical post is secured at its bottom end to a horizontal base 12. Base 12 can be anchored into a floor or the like by bolts 14. Post 10 carries vertically spaced horizontal teeth 16 engaged by a manually operable and manually reversible jack mechanism 18 whereby post engaging sleeve 20, holding the major portion of the mechanism, can be raised or lowered one tooth at a time.
An elongated horizontal member 22 having a vertical stop 24 at one end is secured at the other end to sleeve whereby the member can be raised or lowered.
An elongated horizontal frame 26 is secured at one end to the top end of post 10 by bracket 28 and overlies member 22. Frame 26 has a plurality of vertically threaded bores 30 disposed in spaced position side by side along the longitudinal axis of the frame.
An elongated vertical bar 32 can have an external thread and can threadedly engage any one of bores 30. A horizontal handle 34 can detachably engage the top end of the bar to enable manual rotation of the bar to raise and lower same. The lower end of the bar can be detachably engaged at the center of an enlarged horizontal circular disc 36 which is moved toward and away from member 22 to act as a clamp.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention what is asserted as new is:
1. In combination;
a vertical post;
a sleeve secured to said post and movable up and down therealong; ack means for moving said sleeve up and down the post to desired position;
a horizontal member secured at one end to said sleeve;
a horizontal frame secured at one end to said post above said member and overlying same, said frame having at least one vertical bore; and
second means extending through said bore and having a horizontal disc movable toward or away from said member.
2. The combination as set forth in claim 1 further including a horizontal base secured to the bottom end of the post.
3. The combination as set forth in claim 2 wherein said frame is provided with a plurality of vertical bores disposed side by side along the longitudinal axis of the frame, said second means extending through any one of said bores.
4. The combination as set forth in claim 3 wherein said second means includes a vertical rod threadedly engaging a bore and secured at its bottom end to said disc.

Claims (4)

1. In combination; A VERTICAL POST; A SLEEVE SECURED TO SAID POST AND MOVABLE UP AND DOWN THEREALONG; JACK MEANS FOR MOVING SAID SLEEVE UP AND DOWN THE POST TO DESIRED POSITION; A HORIZONTAL MEMBER SECURED AT ONE END TO SAID SLEEVE; A HORIZONTAL FRAME SECURED AT ONE END TO SAID POST ABOVE SAID MEMBER AND OVERLYING SAME, SAID FRAME HAVING AT LEAST ONE VERTICAL BORE; AND SECOND MEANS EXTENDING THROUGH SAID BORE AND HAVING A HORIZONTAL DISC MOVABLE TOWARD OR AWAY FROM SAID MEMBER.
