Abstract
A gyratory crusher provided with a wobbling crusher cone supported by a dish-shaped sliding bearing on the upper end of an axially slidable piston arranged in a stationary hollow cylindrical shaft is provided with a lubricating system which particularly supplies the sliding bearing with a lubricant. In the wall of the hollow cylindrical shaft is arranged a lengthwise extending bore whose lower end is supplied with lubricant by a supply channel in the housing of the crusher. Near the upper end of this bore the same communicates with a longitudinal slot in the piston from which a radial bore leads to an axial bore in the piston. This axial bore leads directly to the sliding bearing at the upper end of the piston and also communicates with its lower end with a chamber formed by the lower portion of the tubular shaft in which a supporting spring for the piston is arranged.

In the wall of the hollow cylindrical shaft is arranged a lengthwise extending bore whose lower end is supplied with lubricant by a supply channel in the housing of the crusher. Near the upper end of this bore the same communicates with a longitudinal slot in the piston from which a radial bore leads to an axial bore in the piston. This axial bore leads directly to the sliding hearing at the upper end of the piston and also communicates with its lower end with a chamber formed by the lower portion of the tubular shaft in which a supporting spring for the piston is arranged.
2 Claims, 1 Drawing Figure LUBRICANT FEED MEANS FOR GYRATORY CRUSHERS The invention relates to a gyratory crusher whose wobbling crusher cone is supported by a vertically movable dish-shaped sliding bearing on a mechanically, hydraulically, or pneumatically operated, axially slidable piston.
In some gyratory crushers of this type the piston is non-rotatably, but slidably mounted in a stationary tubular shaft. The piston is either mechanically or hydraulically adjustable in vertical direction and rests upon pre-tension spring elements disposed in the gyratory casing or on a gas cushion. In view of this arrangement, it is possible that the crusher cone, when subjected to shock-like loads by non-crushable parts of the materials which have entered the crushing space, will yield when urged against the spring pressure or the gas pressure in order to overcome overloads and avoid any breakage.
On the upper end or the head of the pistons is usually arranged a spherical segment forming the supporting dish of a sliding hearing; The crusher cone, while resting on this spherical segment, is rotated by means of an eccentric sleeve which is driven by a gearing so that the crusher cone performs a wobbling movement in the crushing space of the gyratory crusher.
In the gyratory crusher disclosed in the US. Pat. No. 3,372,881 the lubricant for the sliding bearing which supports the crusher cone is pumped into a bore in the machine frame and from the latter into an annular chamber which surrounds a cylindrical support for the crusher cone. From this annular chamber a tubular lubricant line leads directly to a centrally disposed distributing chamber provided in the sliding bearing. When in this arrangement of the lubricant lines a direct limitation of the stroke of the crusher cone is not obtained by the lubricant system, it is nevertheless difficult, when employing a stack of disk springs in connection with the piston, to obtain an unrestricted passage for the pressure oil to a centrally disposed passage and to the distributing chamber. Furthermore, it has to be taken in consideration that the lubricating oil when passing through stack of disk springs will be contaminated which is harmful for the sliding bearing.
When employing a pressure gas for supporting the piston then one is forced to omit the mentioned annular chamber for the lubricant supplied to the sliding bearmg.
An object of the invention is to provide a lubrication arrangement for gyratory crushers which independent of the selected dimension of the piston and independently of any pneumatic or mechanical over load safety means for the crusher cone assures that the lubricant reaches the sliding bearing in the most simplified manner and seals, if desired, the lubricant against the space in which the springs are arranged.
in accordance with the invention, the system comprises a lubricant supply conduit for the sliding bearing arranged in the housing and the lubricant by one or more transverse passages is directed toward the axis of the housing and by at least one slot-shaped groove is forced into bores of the piston which communicate with a central lubricant channel passing along the axis of the piston into the sliding bearing. Owing to the vertical adjustment of the piston by mechanical means or hydraulic control devices the slot-shaped groove preferably extends likewise in axial direction. The slotshaped groove may lie on the outer surface of the piston or on the inner wall of the tubular shaft. This slot-shaped groove is so dimensioned that in each position of the piston at least a partial coverage of the groove on the piston and on the transverse passages of the inner wall of the tubular shaft takes place.
It is another object of the invention to connect the lubricating channel in the piston and which connects the slot-shaped groove with the sliding bearing with one or more bores which extend to the axis of the piston with an axial bore leading to the slidable bearing. This last mentioned bore may also be connected with additional channels which conduct lubricant to other bearings in the gyratory crusher. In particular, one of these additional conduits may be used for lubricating the stack of disk springs which are used as an overload safety device for the crusher cone for lubricating this stack of disk springs.
These and other objects of the invention, as may appear hereinafter, will now be described with reference to an embodiment of a gyratory crusher which is disclosed in the accompanying drawing.
The drawing illustrates in a vertical sectional view a gyratory crusher constructed in accordance with the invention. This gyratory crusher is provided with a pretension'ed spring 1 serving as a safety element against overloading of the crusher cone. The spring 1 comprises a stack of individual disk springs. In the lower portion of the gyratory crusher is arranged a hydraulic control device 2 for effecting a vertical movement of the pressure of the crusher cone. The gyratory crusher is provided with a stationary jacket whose upper part 3 is equipped with a filling aperture 4 and has attached thereto the hollow conical crusher tool 5. This upper portion 3 is attached to the machine frame 6. A hollow crusher cone 7 rests upon a supporting cone 8 in the interior of which is arranged a spherical segment 9 and the supporting dish 10 of the sliding. bearing which permits a wobbling of the crusher cone 7. The transverse forces which act on the crusher cone 7 are taken up by a cylindrical bearing surface 11 of an eccentric sleeve 13 which is driven by the bevel gearing 12. The eccentric sleeve 13 in turn is rotatably mounted on a tubular shaft 14 which is fixedly securedin the machine frame 6. The supporting dish 10 of the sliding bearing is mounted on the upper end of a piston 15 which is axially slidably mounted in the tubular shaft 14 and is secured against rotative movement by a key 16 which couples the tubular shaft 14 to the piston 15. Between the piston 15 and a hydraulic piston 17 is arranged a pre-tensioned spring 1. The hydraulic piston 17 separates the space for the spring 1 from the lower hydraulic control device 2.
For the purpose of lubricating the sliding bearing, which is formed by the parts 9 and 10, the lower portion of the machine frame 6 is provided with a connecting sleeve 18 provided with a connecting sleeve 19 for an exterior lubricating supply pipe 20. At the upper end of the conduit 18 is arranged in the opposite outer wall of the tubular shaft 14 a lengthwise extending recess 21 into which the lubricant from the conduit 18 is discharged. In the upper portion of the tubular shaft 14 and on the inner wall thereof is arranged another recess 22. This recess 22 is in part in registration with a slotshaped groove 24 in the outer surface of the piston 15. This slot-shaped groove 24 extends in longitudinal direction of the piston 15. The recess 22 and the recess 21 are connected with each other by a long bore or conduit 25 extending lengthwise in the wall of the tubular shaft 14. The upper end of this long bore 25 is closed by a plug 27, so that at this point the lubricant cannot enter the chamber 26 within which the sliding bearing 9, is arranged.
The piston is provided with at least one radial bore 28 which connects the slot-shaped groove 24 with an axially extending centrally disposed lubricating bore 29 in the piston 15. This axially extending lubricating bore 29 may be connected with additional conduits for lubricating individual bearings of the crusher. The upper end of the bore 29 supplies the sliding bearing 9, 10 with the lubricant, while the lower end of this bore 29 may be used for lubricating the stack of the disk spring 1 arranged in the lower portion of the tubular shaft 14.
In a modification of the gyratory crusher of the invention the stack of disk spring. 1, which is arranged between the piston 15 and the hydraulic piston 17, may be replaced by a pressure gas cushion. In that event the lower end of the vertical lubricant bore 29 is closed by a plug which is screwed into the threaded bore 31 at the lower end of the bore 29, so that no lubricant is able to enter the gas space arranged below the piston 15.
What we claim is:
1. In a gyratory crusher, the wobbling crusher cone of which by means of a lubricated dished friction bearing is supported on a piston which is mounted for longitudinal sliding movement in a stationary sleeve in the crusher housing and through a pre-loaded spring member is connected with a device, preferably an hydraulic plunger, for hydraulic adjustment of the crusher gap, the improvement that the lubricant supply means for the friction bearing comprises at least one connection bore extending within the wall of said sleeve and-communicating through one or more crossconnections with a slot-like groove which extends axially in the upper end portion of the wall of said piston and communicates with a lubricant passage through the piston to the friction bearing.
2. The gyratory crusher according to claim 1, in which to the lubricant passage leading to the friction bearing there are connected other passages for lubrication of additional bearings in the cone crusher, particularly for lubrication of the spring member.
Claims (2)
1. In a gyratory crusher, the wobbling crusher cone of which by means of a lubricated dished friction bearing is supported on a piston which is mounted for longitudinal sliding movement in a stationary sleeve in the crusher housing and through a pre-loaded spring member is connected with a device, preferably an hydraulic plunger, for hydraulic adjustment of the crusher gap, the improvement that the lubricant supply means for the friction bearing comprises at least one connection bore extending within the wall of said sleeve and communicating through one or more cross-connections with a slot-like groove which extends axially in the upper end portion of the wall of said piston and communicates with a lubricant passage through the piston to the friction bearing.
2. The gyratory crusher according to claim 1, in which to the lubricant passage leading to the friction bearing there are connected other passages for lubrication of additional bearings in the cone crusher, particularly for lubrication of the spring member.
