CLEVIS.
' SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 367,074, dated July 26, 1887.
Application filed June 4, 1887. Serial No. 240,242.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LORENZO Srown, a citi zen of the United'States, residing at Home, in the county of Smith and State of Tennessee, have invented certain new and usefulImprovements in Olevises; and I do declare the followwhich form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to means for locking the bolts in clevises; and it consists in the construction and combination of the several parts hereinafter described.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a clevis with parts broken away; Fig. 2, a perspective view of the bolt; and Fig. 3 is a perspeetiveview of the lock.
A is the clevis; B, the bolt, having the longitudinal bore or channel B; and O is the lock, which. isfheld and rotates in the bore or channel, and is provided with a catch, 0, and the thumb-piece or knob C.
The bore or channel 13 is arranged eccentric to the axis of the bolt. It is arranged preferably with the said axis, but it may be formed at an angle thereto. It is essential that its end at the smaller end of the bolt be eccentric to the axis,while at the head of the bolt it can be at the center, or at the outside of the center, as preferred.
