Abstract
A mobile home having a central inner section disposed in an outer central section with inner end portions disposed within outer end portions and secured to the inner central section. The inner section and outer portions can be moved with respect to the outer sections and inner portions to expand the structure.

/% //\/VEA/70E MOBILE HOME SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION My invention is directed toward a mobile home which is compressed into an elongated rectangular parallelpiped when moved from place to place and which can be expanded into a U shape when disposed in fixed position.
To this end, I provide a central inner section disposed in a central outer section for movement and movable sideways out of the outer section to effectively almost double the space available when stationary. Each end of the outer section has an inner curved end portion. A straight outer end portion receives the curved end portion for movement. Each outer portion can be swung pivotally through 90 to provide transversely extending horizontal legs to further increase the space available when stationary.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of my invention in compressed position for use in travelling;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of my invention partially expanded; and
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of my invention fully expanded for use in fixed position.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring first to FIG. 1, a horizontal elongated mobile home frame supported by from and rear sets of vertical wheels 12 has resting thereon an elongated hollow rectangular parallelpiped outer section 10. The section has at each end a curved inner end portion 22 which in horizontal cross section defines a quadrant of a circle. Each portion 22 is disposed within an outer end portion 14 which is also an elongated hollow rectangular parallelpiped pivotable in a horizontal plate about the corresponding portion 22. In FIG. 1, portions 14 are aligned with section 10. i
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the end walls, roof, floor of an inner central section are slidably disposed along with and inside of the corresponding elements of section 20. Moreover a side wall 20A of section 20 is slidable outward. When all these slidable elements are slid outward, an inner central section 16 disposed along side and in common with section 20 is formed. When portions 14 are pivoted through 90 into parallel position, the resultant structure of U shape has greatly increased volume or space for use as indicated above.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:
1. A mobile home comprising:
a horizontal frame supported on front and rear wheels;
a hollow outer central section defining a rectangular hollow parallelpiped;
a hollow inner central section disposed slidably within the outer section and having an extended position in which the inner section extends parallel to the outer section out of one side thereof;
first and second outer end portions, each defining a rectangular hollow parallelpiped and secured pivotally at one end to a corresponding end of the outer section; and
first and second curved inner end portions each secured to a corresponding end of the outer section, each inner portion being disposed within the corresponding outer portion when the outer portions and outer section are aligned and being exposed when the corresponding outer portion is pivoted.
2. A home as set forth in claim 1 wherein each outer portion is pivotable in a horizontal plane between the aligned position ang a [pivoted position at right angles thereto.
home as set forth in claim 2 wherein each inner end portion, in horizontal-cross section, defines a quadrant of a circle.
4. A home as set forth in claim 3 wherein said sections and portions have a compressed portion defining a horizontally elongated body and an expanded portion defining a U shaped body. I
Claims (4)
1. A mobile home comprising: A HORIZONTAL FRAME SUPPORTED ON FRONT AND REAR WHEELS; A HOLLOW OUTER CENTRAL SECTION DEFINING A RECTANGULAR HOLLOW PARALLELPIPED; A HOLLOW INNER CENTRAL SECTION DISPOSED SLIDABLY WITHIN THE OUTER SECTION AND HAVING AN EXTENDED POSITION IN WHICH THE INNER SECTION EXTENDS PARALLEL TO THE OUTER SECTION OUT OF ONE SIDE THEREOF; FIRST AND SECOND OUTER END PORTIONS, EACH DEFINING A RECTANGULAR HOLLOW PARALLELPIPED AND SECURED PIVOTALLY AT ONE END TO A CORRESPONDING END OF THE OUTER SECTION; AND FIRST AND SECOND CURVED INNER END PORTIONS EACH SECURED TO A CORRESPONDING END OF THE OUTER SECTION, EACH INNER PORTION BEING DISPOSED WITHIN THE CORRESPONDING OUTER PORTION WHEN THE OUTER PORTIONS AND OUTER SECTION ARE ALIGNED AND BEING EXPOSED WHEN THE CORRESPONDING OUTER PORTION IS PIVOTED.
2. A home as set forth in claim 1 wherein each outer portion is pivotable in a horizontal plane between the aligned position and a pivoted position at right angles thereto.
3. A home as set forth in claim 2 wherein each inner end portion, in horizontal cross section, defines a quadrant of a circle.
4. A home as set forth in claim 3 wherein said sections and portions have a compressed portion defining a horizontally elongated body and an expanded portion defining a U shaped body.
