Primary Examiner- Robert W. Michell Assistant Examiner-J. H. Wolff Auorney-lrving M. Weiner ABSTRACT: A belly-band having a main body formed of a relatively thin rubberized web, a piled rubberized relatively thick textured member adhered to one side of the main body having the same configuration as the main body. The main body and textured member are sewed together along their peripheral edges. Synthetic resin hook pieces are sewed to the other side of the main body, and have bristles on their exposed sides whereby when the band is applied on the belly of a person the piles of the textured member may be interlocked with the bristles of the hook pieces to maintain "the belly-band on the belly in a stabilized state.
BELLY-BAND BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Although the bellyband comprising a strip of cloth as referred to above is less expensive as compared with the knitted bellyband, it requires tedious manual work in winding sufferers, adults and children. The principal object of the on the exposed side whereby when the bellyband is applied around the human belly, the bristles of the hook pieces interlock with the piles of the textured member.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of the inventive bellyband:
FIG. 2 is an enlarged fragmentary view showing the reverse side of the bellyband shown in FIG. 1.
FIG. 3 is a cross section view taken substantially along the line A-A of FIG. 2.
DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION One preferred embodiment of bellyband by the present invention is shown for illustration purposes only. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the bellyband generally comprises a main body configuration as that of the main body 1.
A small piece of cloth 4 is sewed to the reverse of the main body 1 at a suitable area thereof so as to form a pocket 5 the main body in a spaced relation, and each of the hook pieces is formed of synthetic resin and When the novel bellyband is applied around the belly and belly as the wearer moves about because of the elasticity of the main body I and textured member 3. Thus, the novel bellyband has an enhanced practical utility over the prior art bellybands. Particularly, the novel bellyband is advantageous in that the band can be applied to different belly peripheral sizes and contours of human bodies, and in that the band can be also used as a gastroptosis healing band or a sash band for Japanese costume.
I claim: I. A bellyband comprising, in combination: an expansible rubberized web main body; an expansible rubberized textured member which has a configuration of said main body and is adhered on one of its sides to one side of said main body; said textured member has piles throughout its side opposite to that which is adhered on said main body; said main body and said textured member being sewed together along their peripheral edges; and at least one hook piece affixed on one side to the other side of main body near one end of said main body and having bristles whereby when said bellyband is applied around a v portion of an animate or inanimate object said bristles of said hook piece interlock with said piles of said textured member.
2. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 1, including synthetic resin reinforcing pieces removably provided at the opposite ends of said main body on said other side of said main body.
3. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 1, including at least one reinforcing piece removably secured to said main body on the same side of said main body to which said hook piece is afl'ixed.
4. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 3, including a piece of cloth sewed'to one side of said main body to form a pocket which is open at the top end.
5. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 4, including a plurality of synthetic resin hook pieces sewed on one side to the side of said main body opposed to the side on which said textured member is affixed, and said hook pieces having bristles throughout their exposed sides whereby when said bellyband is applied around the belly of a person said piles of said textured member may be interlocked with said bristles of said hook pieces so as to maintain said bellyband on said belly in a stabilized state.
6. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 5, including synthetic resin reinforcing pieces removably provided at the opposite ends of said main body on the side of said main body to which said hook pieces are affixed.
7. A beliyband characterized in accordance with claim 1, including synthetic resin reinforcing pieces removably provided at the opposite ends of said main body on the side of said main body to which said hook piece is affixed.
8. A bellyband characterized in accordance with claim 1, including synthetic resin reinforcing pieces removably secured near the opposite ends of said main body on the side of said main body to which the said hook piece is affixed.
