Int. Cl. B601) 3/00 US. Cl. 296-23 1 Claim ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A camping cabinet consisting of a plurality of vertically stacked sections each having a storage space therein with separate handles, each section being locked to an adjacent section; the top section having a wide handle and the bottom section having a pair of wheels for portability; the top section having a pair of extending spring brackets for cooperation with a canopy frame; the canopy frame carrying a canopy extending over the cabinet; the bottom two sections having a front taper for gravity closing doors thereon.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a camping cabinet and more particularly to a camping cabinet with detachable storage sections and a canopy mounted over the top thereof.
According to the invention, a plurality of storage cabinets are stacked vertically and locked to each other. The bottom cabinet carries a pair of wheels and the top cabinet a handle for convenient portability. The top section also carries a pair of spring brackets for coupling to a canopy bracket which carries a canopy over the front part opposite the wheels of the cabinet. At least one of the sections having a front taper for gravity closing doors thereon.
An object of the present invention is the provision of a camping cabinet having a canopy mounted thereon for shading.
Another object of the present invention is the provision of a camping cabinet having a plurality of vertically stacked storage sections.
Yet another object of the invention is the provision of a camping cabinet having removable vertically stacked storage sections.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a camping cabinet which is inexpensive to manufacture and extremely convenient in use.
Other objects and many of the attendant advantages of this invention will be readily appreciated as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings in which like reference numerals designate like parts throughout the figures thereof and wherein:
FIG. 1 is a side elevation view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of the embodiment of FIG. 1;
FIG. 3 is a side elevation showing one section removed; and
FIG. 4 is a side elevation showing two sections removed.
. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a storage section 14 carries a pair of wheels 17 and a pair of front doors '19. Storage section -13 is stacked on top of storage section 14 and has a pair of trunk-type latches 11 coupling the two sections together. Storage section 13 also has a pair of doors 19 in the front portion thereof. Sections 13 and 14 have a front edge 21 which has an angle with respect to the opposite side for retaining doors 19 in a closed position by gravity. Top section 22 is carried by middle section 13 and has trunk-type latches 11 securing them together.
Top section 22 carries a pair of spring brackets 15 which are received by canopy bracket 23 whidh carries canopy 18 in a taut condition.
Referring to FIG. 3, top section 22 is shown coupled to bottom section 14 by trunk-type latch 11 with middle section '13 removed.
Referring -to FIG. 4, top section 22 carrying canopy 18 has been removed from bottom sections 13 and 14.
OPERATION Referring now to all of the drawings, it can be seen that sections 13', 14 and 22 are easily stacked in place and locked and equally easily removed as dictated by the desire of the user. Canopy 18 is also easily removable for storage and transporting and as seen in FIG. 4, can be utilized to shade infants during a family outing, for example.
It is contemplated here that section 22 will carry a pair of drawers, but this could be utilized as an ice chest, for example, as could either of the other two sections.
'It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing disclosure relates to only a preferred embodiment of the invention and that it is intended to cover all changes and modifications of the example of the invention herein chosen for the purposes of the disclosure which do not constitute departures from the spirit and scope of the invention.
The invention claimed is:
1. A camping cabinet comprising:
a plurality of cabinet members vertically disposed, said plurality of cabinet members being removable attached to each other;
a pair of wheels rotatably attached to the bottom-most cabinet members;
a canopy removably attached to the uppermost cabinet members and at least one of said cabinet members having a pair of hinged doors on one side thereof, said one side being inclined for gravity closing of said doors, said hinged doors being carried by at least one hinge having a vertically disposed axis.
