Be it k now-n that 1, .Lines F. Gori-min, Jr., of Somerville, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Pipe-lVrenehes, of which the following is a specification, referenoe being had to the accompanying drawings, in whieli Figure 1 is a plan of niy improved wrench; Fig. 2, a longitudinal section of the saine, and Figs. 3 and 1 sections on lines x and g/ y, respectively, oi' Fig. 1.
My invention consist-s in the eoi'nbinalion of a carrier which receives the inovablejnw and its nut with the inain parts of a wrench, whereby ihe movable jaw is tipped on the axis of the carrier when the wrench is used.
In the drawings, bar A is enlarged at e, and here bored to receive carrier B, and slotted ab o to admit movable jaw l). Carrier B is slotted to receive jaw l), and has a hole through it in wnich unt (Z.
Yihen the paris are arranged together, as shown, and the wreneh is applied to a pipe in the usual way,jaw D will rip on the axis of carrier B in sneh wise as to make my wrench a more effective instrument than any other known to nie.
v whereby my wrench is made stronger and more convenient for practical work than any pipew reneh known tio me.
That I claim is The main bar A, enlarged ab a, with thejnw D aL- one end, in Combination with carrier B, mounted in t-he bore of the enlarged part Lof bar A, nut d, and niovablejaw D, whose shank is threaded, as shown, and passes through the enlarged parl; L of bar A, carrier B, and nut` d, all substantially as described.
