SZQQMQM ATTORNEX SHOE-BUCKLE MOUNTING BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention pertains to buckles for shoes, and is particularly directed to a method of demountably securing a buckle to the outside only of the shoe surface.
Heretofore, such buckles were demountably secured by the use of clips, clamps, snap fasteners, and the like which engaged inside the shoe surface and engaged the wearer's foot surface, resulting in discomfort from the irregular projections and clip pieces inside the shoe.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shoe having a shoe buckle incorporating the feature of this invention.
FIG. 2 is an exploded view showing the details of the demountable shoe buckle mounting system.
FIG. 3 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view on the line 3-3 of FIG. I.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT As an example of one embodiment of this invention, there is shown a shoe [0 having a sole 11, heel 12, the upper 13, and the instep portion 14 having the smooth inside instepengaging surface 15. On the outside instep surface portion 16 of the instep portion 14 is mounted an adhesive pad 17, preferably by a permanent mastic l8.
Secured to the outer surface of adhesive pad 17 by suitable permanent mastic 19 is a pad 20 having on its outer surface separable securing means, such as velcro fasteners 2] arranged to separably connect with mating fasteners 22 of the pad 23 which is secured to the back side 26 of the buckle or bow 24 by suitable permanent adhesive 25.
Various types of buckles or bows 24 may each be provided with pads 23 with quick attachment and removal effected at 21-22 while at the same time keeping the inside foot instepengaging surface 15 smooth, undisturbed, and comfortable at all times.
I claim:
1. A shoe-buckle mounting for a shoe having an instep outside surface portion on the shoe upper comprising:
A. a pad secured to the instep outside surface portion,
B. a first separable fastener pad permanently secured to said pad and having a hook-pile-fabric-fastening means on its upper surface,
C. a second separable fastener pad having a hook-pilefabric-fastening means for matingly engaging the hook pile fabric means of said first pad,
D. and a shoe buckle permanently secured to the second fastener pad.
2. The shoe buckle set forth in claim 1 wherein said pad is adhesively applied to the instep outside surface portion of the shoe.
Claims (2)
1. A shoe-buckle mounting for a shoe having an instep outside surface portion on the shoe upper comprising: A. a pad secured to the instep outside surface portion, B. a first separable fastener pad permanently secured to said pad and having a hook-pile-fabric-fastening means on its upper surface, C. a second separable fastener pad having a hook-pile-fabricfastening means for matingly engaging the hook pile fabric means of said first pad, D. and a shoe buckle permanently secured to the second fastener pad.
2. The shoe buckle set forth in claim 1 wherein said pad is adhesively applied to the instep outside surface portion of the shoe.
