- cathode ray tube systems include a cathode ray tube having one or more electron beams and a deflection yoke associated with the cathode ray tube for effecting horizontal and vertical deflection of the electron beam.
- the deflection yoke is ordinarily telescoped over the neck portion of the cathode ray tube and firmly but adjustably affixed thereto.
- the deflection yoke requires some form of housing for effectingthe above-mentioned adjustable features.
- the deflection yoke housing should include such desirable features as ease of insertion and removal of the deflection yoke therefrom, as well as ease of electrical access to the deflection yoke. Moreover, the deflection yoke housing should not only provide mechanicalprotection for the deflection yoke but also electrical protection for personnel associated with operation or repair of the apparatus.
- deflection yoke and deflection yoke housing apparatus leaves much to be desired for any one of a number of reasons. Excessive cost, undue structural complexity, lack of convenient electrical coupling capability and lack of mechanical protective capability are all undesirable features of which one or more are found in known deflection yoke and deflection yoke housing apparatus, such as US. Pat. No. 3,363,206 issued Jan. 9, 1968 to R. S. Joseph.
- An object of the present invention is to provide enhanced deflection yoke and deflection yoke housing apparatus for a cathode ray tube system. Another object of the invention is to provide improved electrical coupling and protective capabilities for deflection yoke and deflection yoke housing apparatus. Still another object of the invention is to provide improved mechanical protection and attachment means for deflection yoke and deflection yoke housing apparatus.
