Abstract

The invention comprises a game board having a plurality of disqualifying holes disbursed randomly in said board. Also disposed on the board is a multiplicity of scoring area into which an object may be moved by manipulating the board. A portion of the periphery of the board is curved and a strap is connected to the board so that the board may be releasably held to the body of the player. The board being manipulated by the gyrations of the person to whom the board is releasably fastened so that a score may be added by moving at least one ball in and out of the scoring areas attempting to avoid the disqualifying holes in the board. A plurality of obstacles may be randomly disbursed on said board.

ll-leretofore, it has been known in the toy art that various types of games are popular. Presently the body manipulated game is coming to the forefront'in popularity and particularly those games in which a competitive spirit may be engendered by the participants. Further, these body manipulated games have been found to fulfill the need for body exercises particularly among children and young adults and, therefore, furnish the user with a means for exercising and maintaining coordinated body control..

It is the general object of the present invention to provide a body manipulatable game board which is inexpensive to manufacture and readily marketable.

Another object of the present invention is to'provide a game board which may be releasably secured to a users body so that the board may be manipulated without the use of the users hands thereby to create a competitive scoring system.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a game board which is releasably secured to the body of the user having the object of the game to attain high scores'using body manipulations without having an object removed from from the playing area and without the use of the players hands.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a body manipulated board which is releasably secured to the user's body which through proper manipulation of the users body will provide a means for enjoyable exercising normally quiescent muscles.

The above objects, and other objects which will become more apparent as the description proceeds are achieved by providing a body manipulatable game board, a plurality of disqualifying holes disposed in said game board, a multiplicity of scoring areas disposed on'said game board, means for releasably securing said game board to the body of the user, and an object movable on said game board by the body manipulations of the user, said object being capable of reposing in said scoring area and thereafter being movable therefrom by the manipulation of the users body.

For a better understanding of the present invention reference should be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like numerals of reference indicate similar parts throughout the respective views and wherein:

Referring now to FIG. 1 a body manipulatable game is shown and may be generally referred to by the reference numeral 10.

The game may be provided with a game board 12 composed of any suitable material, preferably one light in weight. The game board 12 may be provided with a multiplicity of scoring areas 14 which are disposed on the upper surface of the game board 12 and which maybe attached to releasably hold a movable object or annulus 16. Although, the movable object 16, as shown in FIG. 1, takes the form of a ball 18 it should be particularly understood that the invention is not limited to the movement of a ball on the surface 20 of the game board 12. y

In order to inject an element of risk in the body manipulation of the movable object 16 along the upper surface 20 of the game board 12, a plurality of disqualifying holes 22 may be disposed in the board 12. In this manner in attempting to manipulate the annulus or object 16 from one scoring area 14 to another it is an integral part of the game to manipulate the object to around the disqualifying holes 22 so that high scores may be obtained. This is to be done without using hands. Manifestly, one of the objects of the game is to move the ball 18 from one scoring area 14 to another thereby compiling a high point total without having the ball 18 become removed from the board 12 during the manipulation of the game board l2.

In order to further create difficulties in obtaining high point totals a multiplicity of obstacles 24 may be randomly disposed on the game board 12 to complicate the movement of the ball 18 from one scoring area 14 to another. The use of the obstacles 24, shown in FIG. 2, may necessitate the manipulation of the ball 18 along a torturous path from one scoring area 14 to another, of course, avoiding the disqualifying holes 22 along its scoring path.

The game board 12 may be so formed as to provide a curved surface 26 on one side thereof which is adapted to fit against the abdomen of a single user. In this respect the side so provided may be of a generally concave shape, having rearwardly extended edges 28. These edges may be so disposed as to fit along side the users body.

In order to releasably hold the game board 12 to the abdomen of the user, a securing means 30 may be provided which extends between the edges 28 of the game board 12. With this structure the securing means 30, which may take the form of elasticized strap 32, will hold the game board 12 firmly against the body of the user so that during the gyrating motions of the user, in his attempt to move the ball from one scoring area to another, the game board 12 will not be dislodged from his body. The other side 34 of the game board may be shaped in any convenient manner forming a streamlined game board 12. The general shape of the game board, however, forms no part of the invention except in the respect that a decoratively shaped board would be anticipated.

In order to hold the ball on the game board during the body manipulation of the board a rim 36 may be provided around the game board 12 and may extend above the same such that the ball 18 when reaching the outer edge of the board 12 would be redirected and held on the board.

As shown in FIG. 2 the scoring areas 14 may be assigned various numerical designations indicating point totals which are added during the course of the playing of the game. It should be noted that more elaborate means may be employed to enhance the salability and novelty of the board 12 such as battery operated lights which would become lit when a ball 18 is rolled or manipulated into a scoring area 14. Other means may also be provided to add to the novelty of the game itself.

It should be particularly noted that the object of the use of the game is to avoid the use of the players hands in manipulating either the ball or the game board.

In operation a player or user fastens the board 12 to his abdomen generally keeping the concave side of the board 12 firm against his abdomen. A ball 18 is placed on one side of the game board 12 and through body manipulation the ball 18 is moved from one scoring area 14 to another. The obstacles 24 provide the player with additional hazards circumvented along with the ball disqualifying holes.

More than one ball 18 may be used during the course of a game depending upon the rules decided by the players who will be competing one against the other.

In summary, the objects of the present invention have been achieved by providing a body manipulatable game board for moving a movable object thereon without the use of the individuals hands to provide a competitive scoring system.

While in accordance with the present invention a preferred embodiment has been shown and described in details in accordance with the patent statues. It is particularly understood that the invention is not considered-to be limited thereto or thereby.

l. A body manipulated game board to be used by a single player without the use of the players hands comprising a plurality of disqualifying holes disposed in said game board, a multiplicity of scoring areas disposed on said game board, an annulus moveably disposed on said game board and adapted to be moved between said scoring areas by the body gyrations of the user, said annulus to be moved by said body gyrations and avoiding said disqualifying holes, said game board being provided with a concave curved peripheral surface, said curved surface portion being adapted to be seated against the body of the user, and a securing means in communication with said game board and adapted to releasably hold said curved surface position of said game board to the body of the user.

2. A body manipulated game according to claim 1 wherein said game board is provided with a rim therearound for preventing the rolling off of said annulus from the game board during its manipulation by the user.

3. Claims

1. A body manipulated game board to be used by a single player without the use of the player''s hands comprising a plurality of disqualifying holes disposed in said game board, a multiplicity of scoring areas disposed on said game board, an annulus moveably disposed on said game board and adapted to be moved between said scoring areas by the body gyrations of the user, said annulus to be moved by said body gyrations and avoiding said disqualifying holes, said game board being provided with a concave curved peripheral surface, said curved surface portion being adapted to be seated against the body of the user, and a securing means in communication with said game board and adapted to releasably hold said curved surface position of said game board to the body of the user.

3. A body manipulated game in accordance with claim 2 wherein a plurality of obstacles are disposed on said game board for inhibiting the free movement of said annulus on said game board thereby providing added difficulties when moving said annulus from one scoring area to another while avoiding said disqualifying holes.

4. A body manipulated game in accordance with claim 3 wherein said annulus is a ball freely movable on said game board.

5. A body manipulated game according to claim 1 wherein said securing means is a strap.
