Description

(No Model.)
B. J. REMILLON.
THREE THROW SWITCH.
' Patented Nov. 9, 1886.
lxhtneooao their respective point-rails.
NITED STATES EUGENE J. REMILLON, or MOBERLY, MISSOURI.
TH REE-TH ROW SWITCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 352,426, dated November 9, 1886.
Application filed June 1, 1886. Serial No.203,81l.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EUGENE J. REMILLON. of Moberly, in the county of Randolph and State of Missouri, have invented a certainnew and useful Improvement in Three Throw Switches, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accon'ipanying drawing, forming part of this specification. and which is a plan of a three-throw switch illustrating my invention.
My invention relates to the construction of a three-throw switch; and it consists in features of novelty, hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claims.
A A are the main rails. A A are extensions thereof.
B C are point-rails arranged on the inside of the rails A A, having their points held against their respective rails.
B O are point-rails arranged on the inside of the point-rails B 0, having their points held away from their respective point-rails. The point-rails B B and O O are connected together in such a manner that when the point railsB O are held against their respective main rails the point-rails B O are held away from When either the point-rail B or the point-rail O is shifted inward, the innermost point-rails are in close contact with both of them. At the portions of the point-rails B O which are adjacent to B B, of the point-rails B B, and the outer portions, 0 O, of the point rails O C, are connected by parallel. rods D, brackets E, and pivot-pins F.
and pivots F, connecting the outer portions (No model.)
It will be seen that the rods are connected to their respective points and cross each other 5 in front ofthe end of the opposite rail to which it is secured. The only secure manner of fastening between the rods and rails is to connect the rods to the webs of the rails, which is accomplished by crossing them vin front of the rails, as shown, a secure fastening being thus obtained between the rods and the rail-points, and that without any bending or shaping of the rods. v
Having thus described my invention, the followingis what I claim as new and desire to secureby-Leiters Patent:
1, In a three-throw switch, the combination of the outer point-rails, B O, inner point-rails,
B O, and thecrossed rods D in front of'the inner pointrails, secured to the webs of the outer point-rails and to the webs of the extreme ends of the inner point rails, substantially as described.
2. Ina threethrowswitch, the combinationv of the outer point-rails, B O, inner point-rails,
B O, brackets E, secured to the webs of the outer point-rails, brackets E, secured to the webs of the extreme ends of the inner pointrails, pivots F F, and the crossed rods D in front of the inner point-rails secured by said pivots to the brackets.
3. A three throw switch consisting of the main rails A A, having extensions A A, point-rails B B G 0, having outer portions, B B O O, crossed rods D, brackets E E, and pivots F, connecting the extreme ends of the innermost point-rails to the outer pointrails, and the parallel rods D, brackets E,
of the point-rails, substantially as shown and described.
EUGENE J. REMILLON. In presence of- JoHN W. NUTE,
