Cl. 13520 2 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an umbrella handle, in general, and to such umbrella handle, in particular, which has a gripping insert surrounded by a gripping cap and a suspension eye for the gripping loop.

The known structures of such umbrella handles are of a disadvantage concerning their manufacture and show only a limited used stability. Both drawbacks result, first of all, from the fact that the suspension eye amounts in the known structures to a structural part which is independent from the gripping insert as well as from the gripping cap, which structural part must be secured and in particular with 'a suificient stability and which, under circumstances, requires still particular securing measures which prevent an automatic release during use.

It is one object of the present invention to provide an umbrella handle which avoids the drawbacks of the known structures.

It is another object of the present invention to provide an umbrella handle in which a suspension eye is provided in a structural form, stabile as to its use, without requiring any additional mounting steps.

It is still another object of the present invention to provide an umbrella handle, wherein the suspension eye of the end side of a handle insert is integrally formed thereto and is passed through an opening on the end side of the handle a cap from the inside thereof.

It is yet another object of the present invention to provide an umbrella handle, wherein the suspension eye originates from a preferably disc-like raising on the end plate of the handle insert, which raising is filling up in a complementary manner the end side opening of the handle cap.

Furthermore, it is of advantage if, in accordance with the present invention, the end plate closes up a bushinglike inner part of the handle insert, from which inner part outwardly directed, longitudinally extending supporting wings project star-like, and which are widened towards their lower end.

Due to this formation, the design of an umbrella handle is created favorable as to its production and stabile as to its use. The suspension eye is integrally formed with the handle insert, preferably made as a form part. The suspension eye does not appear during the mounting as a loose separate structural part. During the insertion of the handle insert into the handle cap, the suspension eye passes through the opening of the end side of the handle cap and thus arrives in the intended free end position. The suspension eye is coordinated thereby to the umbrella handle in absolute use stability. The disclike raising, from which the suspension eye originates, providesnot only an appreciable closing of the end side opening of the handle cap, but also an additional centering between the handle insert and the handle cap, which centering is also realized on a comparatively long peripheral line. The centered and supported position of the handle insert in the handle cap, cylindrical for the greater part of its length, which position is also important for the stabile arrangement of the suspension eye, is completely assured by a star-like supporting wing. Thereby, a rigid connection with the umbrella cane, which enters inside of the bush-like inner part, is brought about.

With these and other objects in view, which will become apparent in the following detailed description, the present invention will be clearily understood in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the umbrella handle, designed in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 is likewise a perspective exploded view indicating the insert position for the handle insert; and

FIG. 3 is a section along the lines 3-3 of FIG. 2.

Referring now 'to the drawing, the umbrella handle comprises a handle cap 1. The latter has a cylindrical section and a mushroom-like head 3.

At the end side 4 of the mushroom-like head 3 is disposed an opening 5. A suspension eye 6 of a handle insert 7 enters through the opening 5 in the direction of the arrows x into the cylindrical part 2 of the handle cap 1 into which the handle insert 7 is to be inserted.

The suspension eye 6 is integrally formed with the end side of the insert 7..The end side is formed by an end plate 8. The disc-like raising 9 is provided on this plate 8. The disc-like raising corresponds in a complementary manner to the opening 5. This applies also to the thickness of the disc-like raising 9. The suspension eye 6 originates from this disc-like raising.

The end plate 8 closes a bushing-like inner part 10 of the insert 7. From the jacket face of the inner part 10 project star-like supporting wings 11. The latter are widened toward the lower end thereof within the range of the wing sections 11 to a larger outer diameter, in order to receive a good centering clamping effect during the sliding of the insert 7 into the cylindrical part 2 of the handle cap 1.

An umbrella cane 13, which is secured by a cross-pin 14, enters a hollow 12 of the bushing-like inner part 10.

The cylindrical part of the handle cap 1 has a rigid beaded edge 15.

While I have disclosed one emodiment of the present invention, it is to be understood that this embodiment is given by example only and not in a limiting sense.

I claim:

1. An umbrella handle comprising: 7

a handle cap having an opening at its end side,

a handle insert surrounded by said handle cap and having an end plate,

said handle insert being immovably disposed in said handle cap,

a suspension eye for a handle-loop,

said suspension eye being formed integrally with and disposed at said end plate of said handle insert,

said suspension eye being inserted through said opening of said handle cap from the inside of the latter, said end plate has a raising filling up in a complementary manner said opening of said handle cap, and said suspension eye originating from said raising, said handle insert being adapted to receive an umbrella cane. 2. An umbrella handle comprising: a handle cap having an opening at its end side,

a handle insert surrounded by said handle cap and having an end plate,

a suspension eye for a handle-loop,

said suspension eye being formed integrally with and disposed at said end plate of said handle insert, and

said suspension eye being insertable through said opening of said handle cap from the inside of the latter,

said end plate has a raising filling up in a complementary manner said opening of said handle cap, and

said suspension eye originates from said raising, said handle insert being adapted to receive an umbrella cane,

said handle insert having a bushing-like inner part closed by said end plate,

outwardly directed, longitudinal supporting wings projecting star-like from said inner part, and said supporting wings being widened towards their lower end.
