IMPROVEMENT IN FASTENING WINDOW-BLINDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 33,806, dated November 26, 1861.

Be it known that I, JOSEPH W.WH1TTIEE,
` lowing is a full and exact description.
My invention consists of a blind rest and fastener so constructed as to form a support to the blind and prevent its sagging, to be detac-hed from its fastening by means of a small lever connected therewith, as seen in the anneXed drawings, and the following description thereof.
Figure l is a plan of the blind fastener and rest upon which the blind rests and which secures it in its position When open, and is driven into the Wall or side of the building', as shown by Fig. '7,Wit-h its brace or support underneath. Fig. 2 represents an elevation of Fig. 3 is a plan of that portion of the blind fastener and rest which is attached to the Window-sill,
upon which the blind rests, and which secures the blind when closed, as shown in Fig. S. Fig. 4 represents an elevation of plan, Fig. 8, with lever D detached. Fig. represents asection of Figs. 3 and et Without the lever D; Fig. 6, a section of Figs. 1 and 2 Withoutrthe lever B. Fig. 9 is a plate which is fastened to the section of blind, as shown at a in Figs. 7 and 8, and iirinly fixes the blind in its position when open or closed.
B and D are levers which throw the blind from its fastening when closed or open to the reverse position.

The levers B and D,the notched rest or support A, and the plate or catch A, constructed, combined, and arranged as and for the purpose above set forth.
