(Cl. 211-60) This invention relates to improvement in golf club display fixtures, primarily for displaying a number of golf clubs within a limited space and allowing the customer to make an easy self selection of the golf clubs on display.

It is a feature of the invention to provide display racks which may be combined to provide a revolving display fixture for effectively allowing the customer to make an easy selection of the golf clubs on display.

Another feature of the invention resides in the provision of display racks which not only can be combined to provide a revolving display fixture, but which may be applied individually to fiat walls or peg board, or applied to corners of walls for displaying the golf clubs in said corners.

Another feature of the invention resides in the provision of display racks which not only can be combined to provide a revolving display fixture, but which may be applied individually to fiat walls or peg board, or applied to corners of walls for displaying the golf clubs in said corners, but display racks which may be otherwise combined and applied to flat walls or peg board.

Another feature of the invention resides in the provision of display racks with putter head partitions coated to eliminate marring of the putter heads, and related portions for positioning the upper portions of the golf clubs.

Another feature of the invention resides in coating the putter partitions and adjacent portions with baked fluidized vinyl.

Further features and numerous advantages and adaptations of the invention will be apparent from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it being understood that the invention is limited only within the scope of the appended claims and not to the particular embodiments selected for illustration.

The golf club display fixture shown in FIGURES 1, 2, 3 and 4 comprises a base 5 composed of four radiating ice metal arms 10 joined at their inner ends and carrying an upright short post 11 having an external cylindrical surface. An upright or vertical post 12 has a lower tubular end 14 which ts over the post 10 and constitutes a revolving mounting post for rotation about the vertical axis of the post 12.

Fixed on the post 12 to turn or revolve with the post 12 near its lower end is a member 16 which is square in plan view as shown in FIGURE 4. Also fixed on the post 12 to turn or revolve with the post 12 at the upper end of the post 12 is a member 18 which is square in plan view as shown in FIGURE 2.

The lower golf club support 20 comprises four racks or fixtures 22 of quadrantal form as shown in FIGURES 1, 4, 8 and 9. Each of the racks 22 is surrounded by an upright metal flange 24 having a rounded outer portion 26, a fiat inner portion 28, and diverging portions 30 extending from the ends of the flat inner portion to the ends of the rounded portion 26. Inwardly of the rounded outer portions 26 are rounded metal inner portions 32, the ends of which are secured at 34 to the diverging portions 30.

Extending radially between the rounded outer portions 26 and the rounded inner portions 32 are metal putter head partitions 36 secured at 38 to the rounded portions 26 and at 40 to the rounded inner portion 32. Rods 42 of arcuate form pass through and are secured to the respective partitions 36. The ends of the rods 42 are secured at 43 to the diverging portions 30. The flat inner portions 28 are secured by screws or other suitable means 44 (FIG. 3) to the sides of the mem-ber 16.

The upper golf club positioning device has a brass or other metal flange 46 to which is secured a brass or other metal rod 48 having outwardly diverging ends 50. An arcuate brass or other metal arcuate rod 52 extends between and is secured at its ends to the diverging portion 50 of the rod 48. A second arcuate brass or other metal arcuate rod 54 spaced outwardly from the rod 52 extends between and is secured at its ends to the diverging portions 5f) of the rod 48. The flange 46 has openings for securing the same by screws or other suitable means 56 to the sides of the member 18.

Secured at their inner ends to the rod 52 are a plurality of radially disposed and spaced brass or other metal rods 5S. The rods 58 are secured to the rods 52 and 54 and v extend outwardly from the rod 54. Rubber or other suitable members 60 having `closed outer ends fit over the outer ends of the rods 50 and 58 for the purpose of preventing injury to the handles of the golf clubs as they are positioned betwen the rods 50 and 58.

The golf clubs shown in FIGURE 1 are putters having heads 62, each of which is positioned between a pair of partitions 36 and rest upon and the supported 1by the rods 42. In the illustrated embodiment of the invention the golf clubs have shafts 64 with grips 65 at their upper ends which are positioned between the rods 50 and 58.

The upper golf club positioning device comprises four portions of quadrantal form so that when combined as shown in FIGURE 2 they form a circular or annular portion simlar to the lower golf club supports 20. Each lower club support has nine spaces for the heads of nine golf clubs and each upper support has nine spaces for the handles of the clubs. Where the racks of the lower golf club support and the racks .for the upper cub supports are combined as shown in FIGURES No. 1, 2 and 4, the display fixture supports thirty six golf clubs in circular relation. Smooth rotation of the members 16 and 18 allows the clubs to be smoothly rotated so that the customer may view all of the clubs and make an easy selection of the clubs on display.

Rods 70 are secured at 72 to the rounded inner por- 3 tions 32. The rods 7i) extend downwardy from their attachment to the portion 32 and then extend inwardly with 4upturned ends secured at 74 to the inner portion Z8 of the lower golf club support.

The making of the lower racks or fixtures 22 and the upper golt` club positioning devices in quadrantal form enables combining the lower racks or fixtures Z2 and the upper golf club positioning devices to provide circular racks for the golf clubs, which racks are rotatable about the axis of the post 12.

The making of the lower racks or fixtures 22 and the upper golf club positioning devices in quadrantal form enables combining two of the lower racks or fixtures and two of the upper golf club positioning devices and attachment of same to a flat wall 76 or peg board for positioning eighteen clu-bs on the wall as shown by the combined position of the racks in FIGURES 6 and 7. The diverging portions 30 have opening so that the end diveging portions may be secured to the wall 76 =by screws 78 or other suitable means.

The end flanges 46 of the fianges 46 which are presented to the wall 76 have openings so that the ends of the combined upper portions may be secured to the wall 76 by screws 78 or other suitable means.

The making of the lower racks or portions 22 and the upper golf club positioning portions of quadrantal form enables attachment of one of each of said portions to a wall 82 by screws 84 or other suitable means passing through openings in the plate of the lower portion of the fixture and through openings in the ange 46 to the upper portion of the fixture and engage in the wall 82 as indicated at 84 in FIGURE 8.

The making of the lower racks or portions 22 and the upper golf club portions ind quadrantal form further enables positioning the upper and lower portions in the corner between two walls 88 and `89 as shown in FIGURE 9. In this case the upper rack portion is secured to the walls 88 and 89 by screws 92 or other suitable means passing through openings in an outwardly directed fiange 46 at the ends of the flange 46 and engage in the wall 88 and 89 as shown at 92 in FIGURE 9. Screws 94 or other suitable means passing through the openings in the diverging portions 30 of the lower rack and engage the walls as shown in FIGURE 9 for securing the lower rack to the walls 88 and 89.

The embodiments of the invention disclosed in the drawings and the specification are for illustrative purposes only, and it is to lbe expressly understood that said drawings and the specification are nottobe construed as a definition of the limits or scope of the invention, reference being had to the appended claims for that purpose.

I claim:

1. A display device for golf clubs comprising a fixture of quadrantal form having an upright metal flange and a rounded oute-r portion, a fiat inner portion, diverging portions extending from the ends of the flat inner portio to the ends of the rounded portion, a rounded inner portion, and partitions for heads of golf clubs extending between and secured to said rounded outer and inne-r portions, and an upper positioning device of quadrantal form having portions for disposition between the upper ends of golf clubs.

A display device for golf clubs comprising a fixture fof quadrantal form having an upright metal fiange and a rounded outer portion, a fiat inner portion, diverging portions extending from the ends of the fiat inner por- .tion to the ends of the rounded portion, a rounded inner portion, and partitions for the heads of golf cl-ubs extending 'between and secured to said `rounded outer and inner end portions, and a second fixture spaced vertically above said -first fixture comprising a second flange having outwardly diverging ends, spaced arcuate rods extending between and secured to said outwardly diverging ends, radially disposed rods secured to said spaced arcuate rods, and members on the outer ends of said radially disposed rods for ypreventing injury to the handles of golf clubs as they are positioned between said rods.

A display fixture for golf clubs comprising a base having radiating arms joined at their inner ends and carrying an upright short post, an upright post having a tubular lower end mounted to turn on said short post, lower and upper square members fixed to turn with said upright post, fixtures of quadrantal form secured to the sides of the lower member and having rounded outer portions, rounded portions inwardly of said rounded outer portions, golf club head partitions extending between and secured to said rounded outer and inner portions for positioning heads of golf clubs therebetween, four upper positioning devices secured to the sides of the upper member, and a plurality of radially extending rods carried by said upper devices and extending between handles of clubs.

4. A display device for golf `clubs according to claim 3, wherein the sides of the upper and lower portions secured to the lower and upper members are fiat, and diverging portions extending from the ends of said fiat portions of said lower and upper members.

5. A display device for golf clubs according to claim 4, wherein the flat portions of the lower and upper members have apertures for securing said members to said square members.

6. A display fixture for golf clubs comprising a first member having portions diverging at a ninety degree angle at the ends thereof, said diverging portions being apertured for attachment to walls at a corner between said walls, a first rounded portion at the outer end of said first member, a second rounded portion inwardly of said first rounded portion, and golf club head partitions extending between said first and second portions between which heads of golf clubs are adapted to be disposed, and a second member spaced vertically above said first member and having outwardly diverging ends, said diverging ends of said second member being apertured for attachment to said walls at said corner between said walls, spaced arcuate rods extending between and secured to said outwardly diverging ends, radially disposed rods secured to said spaced arcuate rods, and members on the outer ends of said radially disposed rods for preventing injury to the handles of golf clubs as they are positioned between said rrods.

A display fixture for golf clubs comprising a member apertured for attachment to a support, portions diverging at a ninety degree angle at the ends of said apertured member, said diverging portions being apertured for attachment to walls at a corner between said walls, a first rounded ,portion at the outer end of said member, a second rounded portion inwardly of said first rounded portion, golf club head partitions extending between said first and second portions between which the heads of the golf clubs are adapted to be disposed and an upper positioning device Ihaving a member apertured for attachment to a support, portions diverging at a ninety degree angle at the ends of said last member, and a plurality of radially disposed rods carried by said member for extending between handles of golf clubs.

A display fixture for golf cl-ubs comprising a member apertured for attachment to a support, portions diverging at a ninety degree angle at the ends of said apertured member, said diverging portions being apertured for attachment to walls at a corner 'between said walls, a first rounded portion at the outer end of said member, a second rounded portion inwardly of said first rounded portion, golf club head `partitions extending between said first and second portions Ibetween which heads of golf clubs are adapted to 'be disposed, rods of arcuate form passing through said partitions for supporting heads of golf clubs and an upper positioning device having a member apertured for attachment to a support, portions diverging at a ninety degree angle at the ends of said last member, and a plurality of radially disposed rods carried by said member for` extending between handles of golf clubs.

A display fixture for golf clubs comprising at least one quadrantal fixture defined by an inner portion, an uter portion, diverging end portions extending from said inner portion to the ends of said outer portion, and partition means for positioning heads of golf clubs therebetween, and at least one quadrantal positioning device disposed vertically above said one =quadrantal rfixture having a plurality of radially disposed rods extending between the handles of golf clubs.

The display device of claim 9 characterized lby the provision of a pair of said quadrantal fixtures mounted with a diverging end portion of each thereof in juxtaposed relation to define a semici'rcular configuration, and a pair of said quadrantal positioning devices one each in spaced apart vertical alignment with one each of said pair of quadrantal xtures.

The display device of claim 9 characterized by the provision of four of said first quadrantal fixtures mounted 6 with the diverging end portions of each thereof in juxtaposed relation to define a circular configuration, and four of said quadrantal positioning devices one each in spaced apart vertical alignment with one each of said first quadrantal fixtures.

A DISPLAY FIXTURE FOR GOLF CLUBS COMPRISING A BASE HAVING RADIATING ARMS JOINED AT THEIR INNER ENDS AND CARRYING AN UPRIGHT SHORT POST, AN UPRIGHT POST HAVING A TUBULAR LOWER END MOUNTED TO TURN ON SAID SHORT POST, LOWER AND UPPER SQUARE MEMBERS FIXED TO TURN WITH SAID UPRIGHT POST, FIXTURES OF QUADRANTAL FORM SECURED TO THE SIDES OF THE LOWER MEMBER AND HAVING ROUNDED OUTER PORTIONS, ROUNDED PORTIONS INWARDLY OF SAID ROUNDED OUTER PORTIONS, GOLF CLUB HEAD PARTITIONS EXTENDING BETWEEN AND SECURED TO SAID ROUNDED OUTER AND INNER PORTIONS FOR POSITIONING HEADS OF GOLF CLUBS THEREBETWEEN, FOUR UPPER POSITIONING DEVICES SECURED TO THE SIDES OF THE UPPER MEMBER, AND A PLURALITY OF RADIALLY EXTENDING RODS CARRIED BY SAID UPPER DEVICES AND EXTENDING BETWEEN HANDLES OF CLUBS.
