The nature of my invention consists in adapting the stove to burning wood or coal, and with the latter to combine a hot air chamber to convey heat to the oven. Its construction is as follows: The exterior is an oblong box, the front half of which projects downward somewhat below the back part, this is raised on legs, and under the front parta draw (a) slides, across which are two bars, one at the center and one front; the center one serves to supporta circular grate (Z2) to which a handle is attached that projects in front, by which the grate is turned on a pin in the base, above this there is a hole through the bottom plate surrounded by an oval flange; and a cylindroid'(c) is fitted into it, which forms the coal chamber when it is used as a coal stove, over this a plate is placed that has a hole through it that fits the coal chamber tightly all around and forms an air chamher around it; this air chamber runs back under the oven and conveys the heat to it.

The front of the stove is furnished with double doors, and on one or both sides of the fire chamber there is another door which opens into it to be used when burning wood in which case the cylindroid and plate (a?) are removed and a plate fitted into the hole of the bottom of the stove in. place of the grate. In the top plate are four boiler holes with movable partitions and the back of the stove is occupied with the oven (6) the doors of which open intoit from the sides, this oven is surrounded byflues the bottom one of which can be cut ofiby a damper (f) behind when necessary; the

terminal flue projectsfrom the back of the stove and rises vertically to the top wl'iere it is joined to the pipe; between the oven and fire chamber there is a double back with a space between to which air is admitted through holes (It) in the sides. A revolving damper shuts off the direct draft into the chimney when the oven is to be used. r

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is The formation of a hot air chamber by means of the cylindroid and cap plate (d) in the firechamber of a wood stove thus changing it into a coal stove and at the same time applying heat to the oven in the manner and for the purpose described.
