CRUSHlNG-MILL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 318,670, dated May 26, 1885.
Application filed January 28, 1885. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern..-
Be it known that I, EUGENE MARIE VIL- LEROY, a citizen of the French Republic, and a resident of Schramberg, in the Kingdom of Wiirtemloerg, and German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Crushing-Mills, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in mills for crushing clay, stones and similar material; and the obj ects of my improvements are the application of a rolling ball for crushing the said material inside of or'within the recess of a rotating and oscillating or swinging basin and the means for adjusting the inclina tion of this basin. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation, partly in section, of a crushing-mill with inclined rotating basin. Fig. 2 is a front view thereof; and Fig. 3, a top view of head-plate, showing the ad jnstable bearing of the inclined shaft.
Similar letters refer to similar parts through out the several views.
According to my invention a heavy ball, a, of stone, iron, or other suitable material, is placed inside of or Within the recess of a basin, b, in the center of which is fastened an upright shaft, 0. This shaft 0, which rests with its upper end in a bearing, Z, and with the lower end in a bearing, k, is inclined toward the vertical.
In the construction, as shown by Figs. 1 to 3, the head-plate g is arranged movably in such a manner as to be raised or lowered on the columns or stands h, in order to adjust conveniently the inclination of the shaft 0 and the basin 1) fixed thereon. The set screwsz' secure the plate 9 in the position required. The upper bearing, Z, is therefore provided with pivots which rest in the adjustable support m. To the bottom of the basin 0 is fasteneda geared ring, (1, into which engages a rotating bevelgear, 6, thus causing the basin Z1 to rotate. The conical roller f supports the basin at its lowest point.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I desire to claim and secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a crushing-mill, the combination of the inclined shaft 0, the rotating basin 1), the ball a, the adjustable bearing Z, having pivots on the sides of it, and the adjustable support an, in which the said bearing is pivoted, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In a crushing-mill, the combination of the inclined shaft 0, the rotating basin 1), the ball a, the adjustable bearing 1, having pivots on the sides of it, the adjustable support m, in which the said bearing is pivoted, the vertically-adjnstable Iplatc g, and theistands 71, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of two witnesses, this 26th day of December, 188-1.
EUGENEQMARIE VILLEROY.
